This Is It
Limited to a two-week run, I managed to catch Michael Jackson's This Is It on the last weekend.
The film documents exclusive footages of behind-the-scenes rehearsals of MJ's would-be concert. Throughout the show, you can sense his dedication to perfection; attention to minute details in the music and his pitching, the effects of the shows and the dancers. You can tell he's a really nice person and he's polite to the crew members - no airs at all. If I hadn't seen this show, my impression of MJ would remain that of a baby dangler and an extreme fan of plastic surgery (gone wrong). After the show, I guess I see more of the icon/idol/superstar that the fans see him. However, I still feel that the movie is another way to milk the already-dead MJ for more money. Life is sad, death seems sadder. 3 and a half out of 5 stars.

What's Boiling At Devil's Kettle
I didn't expect myself to be catching Jennifer's Body as it seemed kinda horrific but I just psycho-ed myself that it's an extended episode of Supernatural and the two handsome male leads have been replaced by a heroine instead. Imagine being in the theatre with just ONE other person seated far, far away. Yup, I'm kinda timid sometimes.
Anyway, Jennifer only started feasting on boys after a satanic ritual went wrong. Turns out her sweetie pie image is not equivalent to her virginity, a must for the ritual. No thanks to a lowly band aptly named Low Shoulder. Thereafter, Jennifer has to eat flesh to sustain her life and her hot looks. The only one in the know is Needy, her best friend and she has to uncover the true behind Jennifer's transformation and save the town before her boyfriend becomes the next victim. I've to say that I love how the ending played out, and I'm not going to spoil it but let's just say the evil-doers got what they deserved. 3 out of 5 stars.
Oh, check out the soundtrack! I like Cobra Starship's Chew Me Up & Spit Me Out.Labels: movies

Like Yeahh!
Sigh, I'm hooked on another weird song again.
LBO was really funny today. Especially the part regarding "Special French Lessons", saying it now makes me feel (kind of) sleazy! I'm also glad my lecturer decided not to go through the tutorial questions cos I did only one out of three; other students said they were too tired - brain dead!
Seriously, I don't really know what I'm doing these days. I make lots of lists about what to complete, and they are not completed even though I'm (kind of) doing them. I haven't touched The Host since Sunday morning but it seems the other books are also untouched. Whatever.
Anyway, The Killers finally released their live DVD!

Facets
I've read before that people need friends because they reflect the different sides of the multi-faceted personality that you are.
Personally, I believe that we only reveal a certain side of ourselves to some people. Not one person knows everything about another.
That's why when I got the message, I was glad I made that friendship. Even though I'm not in a friend-making mood in recent months, I'm sure of what the future will bring for me - another friend to see another side of me. =)Labels: thoughts

It Lingers On
Well, I haven't been watching much movies lately and I made a point to catch The Blue Mansion!
It's about the death of pineapple magnate, Wee Bak Chuan, who died under mysterious circumstances and the police have suspected foul play. The detectives investigate the case and discovers that the dead man's three children seem to have an agenda, and that's not counting the jealous relatives and businessmen he offended in his quest for power.
Well, it seems quite intriguing and the plus point is that the actors are very familiar since you've either seen them on TV or heard about them in theatrical productions. The movie displays the typical storms that rich families face - sibling rivalry, fighting over the family's fortune, loveless marriages, dark secrets and pasts that haunt them for the rest of their lives. 3 out of 5 stars.Labels: movies

Rising Up
Oh well, not many posts lately as I have tonnes of work to do but I'm either playing Bejewelled Blitz on FB or secretly reading Stephenie Meyer's The Host under the pretext of doing LBO. =P
Saw this video online and I remember that was the Supernatural episode that made me laughed like mad! It's S04E06, where Dean gets infected with ghost sickness, starts behaving like a coward and screams like a girl! I have to add, Survivor's Eye Of The Tiger is right in my playlist because of Dean Winchester!
If you would like to skip to the clip in question (hopefully not), it starts at the end of the thrid minute. And since I'm on these hunks, I might as well show the video where they portray themselves as Teddy Bear doctors (from S04E08)! Sucidal teddies! Lastly, from S03E03, where Dean and Sam comes across a rabbit's foot - known to bring good luck to those who find it and death to those who loses it. Dean is hilarious! Enjoy! That's How I Play
Ahhh! I just saw this video of The Office, where Jim and Pam (finally) got married! Damn funny! Watch out for Dwight...
It was sort of inspired by this real-life wedding, which had the bride, groom, maids-of-honour and best men dance to Chris Brown's Forever - all caught on video.
I wanna watch The Office S5!
Anyway, I'm surfing Youtube for Kings of Leon live videos and I'm so glad they also appeared on Later... with Jools Holland. I chanced upon this show months ago while searching for live performances of The Killers, and I am not disappointed. It's a BBC programme and the entire duration of the show is dedicated to that band and it's all live sets! WHOA!
Speaking of bands, I think my impression of Caleb Followill was ruined temporarily by watching an earlier performance by KOL. His hair!
Come to think of it, I think he changed more hairstyles than I did?!? Plus, he has much healthier hair. Oh well.
Only By The Night rocks!
