A week's notices

Back after a seemingly long while. Been having prelims for combined humanities, A math paper 1, E math paper 2, Biology and Chinese.

Geog and social studies was still quite okay this week compared with other subjects. My last minute study paid off a little and I guess that was pure luck. Better do more solid revision next freaking time... As for mathematics (both A & E), I had much difficulty doing some questions. For A math, i actually did my relative velocity right for the first time but one wrong tap on my calculator wasted my 7 marks. As for E math, I didnt know what to do for the damn loci question.

Chinese was a "blast". It rocketed out of nowhere, I must say. Out of the 5 words for hanyu pinyin, I only knew one. Biology was only a little better. I studied heredity last night and a bit of here and there this morning. Only thing bad is I didn't touch on microbiology, and there goes my 10 marks. Therefore, I'm gonna slog my guts out this weekend, with much determination and nagging from my mom. Hopefully, I will get better results for my physics, compared to mid year's. Now that we've got Cheerful teacher, Mr. Phoa, I hope my results will improve.

To all teachers, I thank you for your dedication in teaching us and giving us the relevant knowledge before the prelims and the final 'O's. Hopefully, I won't disappoint you. And of course, my family, and MYSELF.

Blurry...

Phew, another exhausting day has passed. Yesterday, I had my prelim biology practical. Everything went on quite well, except that: 1. I kept smelling the onion specimen, 2. I went back to the wrong bench. To elaborate the second point: I went back to my bench to find the rubber band for the test tubes. However, I couldn't find any and thought the bench look strange... and Joel's calculator was on my(?) bench. Then Joel came and I realized my folly, I went to his bench instead!! Gosh, how blur can I be?!?!

Today was not any better. Had my Chemistry practical. Man, time was running out and I only did the first few questions. In the end, I left the last two questions blank and hastily filled in the wrong answers for the remaining pathetic questions I answered. Was busy returning apparatus and when I went out to put my things into my bag, I realized: How come my bag has a brown strip? Then I realized, again to my folly, that I went to Joel's (again!!) bag instead. How blur can I be?? Two days in a row!!!

Hope tomorrow will be good. Pray hard.

Wednesday's Blog

Back again. Went out yesterday with my sister to watch A Cinderella Story, cos we had the free movie tickets or rather complimentary passes to watch it at any cinema after buying 8 Days at Tangs last Saturday. Stars Hilary Duff and Chad Michael Murray, of Lizzie McGuire and One Tree Hill fame.

Story's about Sam (Hilary) who has to work at her stepmom's diner to save money to go to Princeton. She has to do all kinds of chores and tolerate her bitch-of-a-stepsisters. However, the only thing keeping her sane was this fantasy chat guy she knew. After chatting with each other for a long time, they decided to meet at the middle of the dance floor on Halloween night. Sam was shocked to discover that the poet she knew was Austin Ames (Chad), Student Body president and football captain. However, she had to answer her curfew by returning to the diner by 12midnight before her silicone-flled stepmon finds out. In a hurry, she leaves her cellphone behind. The next day, she discovers Austin has been finding out who is this Cinderella that left at the middle of the dance. Her stepsisters looked at her emails and discovered that Sam was Cinderella!! They devised a plan to trick Sam into going to the peptalk before the match of the year and told Shelby, the cheerleader and one-sided lover of Austin. The cheerleaders made her story into a fictatious and false adaptation of the fairytale she and Austin shared. Hurt, she left the place with "Diner Girl" name throwing and Austin's dislike. She was dealt another blow when her stepmom gave her a fake letter that she was rejected to enter Princeton. With the help of Rhonda, she moved out of home and quit her job at the Diner. She even told Austin off for not daring to show what he's really made off and said that "waiting for you is like waiting for a rain in this drought. Painful and useless." She made off to the game and was about to leave when Austin came rushing out of the game and kissed her, and apologized for his behaviour. She also found a will by her father, hidden in the book of fairytales, which meant that the Diner, the house and everything belonged to her. Needless to say, Austin and Sam lived happily ever after.

That was the show, isn't it sweet? Although I think it most probably would not happen in real life cos u might end up meeting the janitor, an old ah-pek or some kinda computer freak. Trust me - I've been there, done that. And you wouldn't wanna know the details. Suppose that's about all, anyway, I saw a few trailers while waiting for the movie to play, such as The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement, Ladder 49 and Raising Helen. All nice shows, but I guess that will have to wait a little later for I have to concentrate on my studies and save enough money for movie marathons at the end of the year.

Here's a quote from the movie:
Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game.

Boring Tuesday.

Today started off slowly. Did some E Math prelim papers. Haiz, I did that except for any other subjects, better start other subjects soon. Anyway, I went to watch home movies - 13 Going on 30 and A Walk to Remember after that. Nice movies, both of them, as at some point of time, I nearly cried at both movies. Whoever's reading this should go watch them.

Monday Reds!!!

First up, yesterday's highlights.

Went out yesterday to pray my paternal Grandpa and Grandma. Afterwhich, went to Cold Storage at Robinson's to buy fruit juice. Tried this new flavour by Fruit Tree, or another brand which I can't remember now, it's blackcurrant with aloe vera, a NEW flavour!! Yummy, I love blackcurrants!! Also heard the song Oh! Carol, an oldie favourite, which was coincidentally sang on Teacher's Day by Mr. Kwa, specially dedicated to Miss Carol.

Today started badly. My dad was yelping away like a mad dog because of dunno-what-the-hell the reason is. Very bad start indeed. Went to my Grandma's house to do some A Math and revise a bit of Physics, before leaving to school for A Math remedial. Spent nearly 3 hours on 4 questions, and I broke my ruler and dropped my calculator in the same period of time. Blame it on the small table.

After that, the whole of 4E2 waited for half an hour to decide and find Mr Phoa whether there should be a Physics mock exam. After discussing, with some escaping home and who knows where, we took the mock exam. Of course, initially it went on like a real exam. Except for some muttering here and there. However, towards the end of the paper, with the temptation of Mr Phoa being not around, and "help desks" around the class, the paper became class work. As in, we were doing group work. Even I could not resist the temptation. How could I when I can't even do the first question!!! Btw, the paper's from Cresent Girls', luckily I didn't go there, or else I would even pass my physics. Went home before it started pouring.

After hesitating while doing my E Math prelims papers, i downloaded this mahjong game into my phone and was quickly addicted to it. Phew! Luckily it ran out of battery and I controlled myself from charging it, or else Singapore's electricity would end up at my mobile phone. Watched this Jetset programme, about the 10 best restaurant toilets in the world, last friday's was the 10 best toilets in Las Vegas, you should really watch it. There were some underground ones, those with horror/space themed, even see-through fish tanks in between urinals and spa-before-meals restaurants. Gotta go now, ciao.

Song Now.

Now playing If I Ain't Got You, by Alicia Keys featuring Usher.

::Lyrics::

Some people live for the fortune
Some people live just for the fame
Some people live for the power, yeah
Some people live just to play the game
Some people think that the physical things define what's within
And I been there before but that's life's a bore, so full of the superficial

::Chorus::
Some people want it all, but I don't want nothing at all
If it ain't you baby, if I ain't got you baby
Some people want diamond rings, some just want everything
But everything means nothing if I ain't got you, yeah

Some people search for a fountain
The promise is forever young
(You know) Some people need 3 dozen roses
And that's the only way to prove you love them
Hand me the world on a silver platter
And what good would it be?
With no one to share with no one who truly cares for me

::Chorus::
Some people want it all, but I don't want nothing at all
If it ain't you baby, if I ain't got you baby
Some people want diamond rings, some just want everything
But everything means nothing if I ain't got you, you, you
Some people want it all, but I don't want nothing at all
If it ain't you baby, if I ain't got you baby
Some people want diamond rings, some just want everything
But everything means nothing if I ain't got you, yeah

If ain't got you with me baby, ohh, ooo
Say nothing in this whole wide world don't mean a thing
If I ain't got you with me baby.

Shopping!!

HAPPY TEACHER'S DAY!!!

Went out by myself to search for my ideal watch. From Forum to Heeren Shops to Plaza Singapura to Raffles City, I went to the SWATCH shops and finally found one - the Skin Collection - Pinky Pink. Initially, I wanted this Lucky Stripes model but found out it was out of stock island-wide. Too bad. After shopping for a while, I went back home to take a desired nap. Woke up, did a little physics and went to watch Charmed, where Wyatt conjured a dragon!! Think I'd better go back and study after this.
