Eve of New Year's Eve

Oops. Didn't blog yesterday because I was busy downloading songs, before the copyright act hits on 1 Jan 2005. Yup, so I'm downloading as much as the PC can take.

Went out yesterday to collect this Blade:Trinity soundtrack, which I have no idea that I sent in my name for the contest and won it coincidentally. Afterwhich, my sister and I went to GV Plaza to watch Blade:Trinity, courtesy of a pair of complimentary passes from some shopping trip ages ago. It was kinda frustrating as I was already running late from the opening time at 1035hrs, and it was like 1046hrs when I reached. The person at the ticketing counter asked for my IC, the usher also asked for it. I think when I reach 18, they'll probably still ask for it.

Then, we got this sushi platter from Genki Sushi which is cheaper by $16!! Good buy!! Then when I reached home yesterday, it was download time, and now I'm still doing it, before the clock strikes midnight tomorrow. See ya! And Happy 2005!

Happy New Year!!

Went out today to buy shoes but it ended up a wasted trip. saw lotsa ppl. But they didn't see me. Saw Swee San, primary school classmate at NTUC Bedok. Also thought I saw Kelly and Mum there. Then I saw Jason working at Samuel & Kevin, Bedok. He dyed his hair like ah beng. Sick.

Anyway, just wanna inform everyone who's been a supporter of this blog, that I won't be updating my blog as often once school starts, as I will be attending JC for the first three months. So, if I happen to blog, and you happen to read it, you're in luck! See ya, and Happy New Year!! Happy 2005!!

Merry X'mas

First of all, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone!! This means 2004 is ending, and a new chapter of 2005 is beginning!! Hooray!!

Had quite a pleasant Christmas, ate log cakes etc, and had exchange of Christmas gifts. Then I watched numerous TV programmes like Brit Awards 2004 [which had Busted!], Radio Music Awards [quite boring but okay].

Boxing Day, I went out to temple to pray and also met up with my relatives. However, I came up with a coughing fit and became the centre of attraction. *embarrassed* Slepy for quite a while when I reached home and watched this fantastic movie - Blast From The Past, starring Brendan Fraser and Alicia Silverstone. It's a nice, simple film that eventually evolves into a love story. Then, I watched the last episode of Six Weeks, and realized how unpredictable and short life can be. If you watched the ending, you'll realize that it's probably a good thing that Adrian Pang was informed of his illness, and at least treasured and used his last six weeks to the maximum. Ta-ta.

It's been a while...

It's been a while since I last blogged. Been kinda caught up in some affairs. Here are some updates of me over the week.

My cousin's wedding went on quite well with a bit of hoo-ha in the end, but I'm not gonna elaborate on it. I'm rushed for time here.

Monday, went out with my mom to purchase some cupboards and shelves for my room. So, I think most of you would have guessed that I have been spending most of the following days packing my stuff into them.

Anyway, next month's Lime magazine, which is already out, has Taufik on the cover, and I really like the calendar they gave. So yummy.

So, I have been packing and packing, until yesterday, when I met up with my primary school friends at Kbox Tampines. Those present were Chui Ting, Tian Cai, Bian Xun, Hui Chun, Shu Hui, Yuk Ming, Siu Hong, Chong Xun and Jacqueline. All of us didn't really warm up at first, but after that, we all sang most songs together, as a group. We sang some oldies towards the end, after our supposed ending time at 7. I'm not really sure what time they ended the session as I left at around 8plus. To rush home to watch Charmed and because of my sort-of curfew.

Today, packed a little too, and went to the optician's at bedok reservoir and met Chun Hian. Lucky chap, he went to Temasek JC!! Chatted for a while and I left to Tampines to collect the log cake for Christmas at the Coffee Bean.

In case I do not blog after this, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all my blog-viewers, and thank you to those who have sent me their greetings.

Contacts!!

Yippee! Finally got my contact lenses today. No one will say they don't recognize me anymore!!

Went to the optometrist's at 1300hrs. Was told to wash my hands before handling the delicate lenses. The lady was very nice, teaching me patiently as I could not really keep my upper eyelid from going down --> I kept blinking. Natural reaction, and this brought along some tears as well. After much struggle, I finally got it in. Which means, in future, I need to wake up half an hour earlier just to put them on, in case I fumble with them.

Went Tampines Library later and found the second book to the series, 1-800-WHERE-R-YOU, Codename Cassandra, which I borrowed earlier - When Lightning Strikes. So happy!! Right now, I can't wait for my cousin's wedding, yet there's a feeling of dread. This is because of the usual questions like "Wa, you've grown bigger... what did you eat?", or "She's still as young" (which means I haven't grown much), or "Where are you planning to go? How's your O Levels? Do you think you'll fare good enough?" etc. This kind of stupid questions, I would push them to my manager if I had one, or probably stuff their mouth with some smelly socks to shut them up if I'm not ever seeing them again.

Now, I can only hope for the best.

National Treasure/contacts

Sorry for not blogging yesterday, my internet had some problems in connection.

Anyway, went out yesterday to Tampines Mall. It's been a long time since I stepped into there, since I've been going to town in these recent weeks. No much changes except at the 4th floor, where there's the new Long John Silver's and Gelare. Maybe it's been there for some time, just that I've been sitting at home like an antique vase.

Went to OPSM to get contact lenses - monthly disposable, which will last a year. I was quite shock to hear that my degree has increased by 25, due to my taking in/out of my glasses when I need or don't need it. Will have to collect it on Friday, then the optometrist will teach me how to take care and wear them. It will be a good move, I hope, as most people don't recognize me when I wear my glasses. Good for disguise.

Met Izzulwan later to watch National Treasure at 1350 hours. It stars Nicolas Cage (Benjamin Franklin Gates), Diane Kruger (Dr. Abigail Chase - Troy, Wicker Park) , Jon Voight (Ben's father - Anaconda) and Sean Bean (Lord of the Rings trilogy), among others. When it started, I didn't really catch their drift at first but after about half and hour, you get them. It's marvellous how they can get into parts of American history and monuments by just a riddle. "Wow" is the word. Plus, the constant squabbling between Abigail and Ben is extremely funny in the beginning because Abigail just can't shut up. I recommend that whoever is reading my blog now to watch the movie as it is the movie of the season.

Also met Vanessa and her mom (?) outside Tampines MRT. Nice to see her after not meeting people for weeks.

out for today

Cleared my magazines as I've been receiving complaints from my family members that they are building up like the Great Wall of China. Bah. So, as usual, I tore out and cut out those articles/pictures that are of concern to me, like Charmed, Troy, Smallville, Simple Plan, Mean Girls... you get the idea.

Went out to Bedok Library to return my library books and borrowed this - Dreaming of Strangers, which revolves around two people - one male, one female, who meet together due to a rented room and share a love with movies. This guy actually said in the book, that "there is nothing sexier than a woman going to the cinemas alone". Haha, sounds like me. But, I don't think I'm sexy, it's just something nice to praise one about.

Anyway, I saw Channel 8's Carol Lin shopping with her husband at Tampines NTUC! Haha, I actually doubled back to take a second look. She's very tall and her figure's damn good, especially her looooong legs. Mini trivia: She is trained to teach English! Without makeup, she looks kind of dull but I still recognize her - she was holding a twin packet of Sobe soya bean milk. Hehe, none of our business.

Last but not least, tonight Wan Yee will be going to Switzerland!! So envious, haha. Don't forget my chocolates!! Bon voyage!!

Back after the last blog on the 9th

Really felt bad about not blogging for the past few days, have not been feeling very well.

On Friday, went with my mom to the dentist again. This time, he fixed the braces with the wires on both the upper and lower sets of my teeth. It was painful. The dentist told me I would feel discomfort for about a week because the teeth would move and align themselves in place. He hopes all this pain would be gone before Christmas, so I could enjoy the festive season. And my cousin's wedding this coming Sunday too, I hope, imagine watching others eat delicacies while I sit and moan!! Went shopping for awhile at Orchard Road, and bought a B.U.M. bag that was going on sale. Good buy!!

However, going home and eating dinner was a chore. The bus was jerky and I had a terrible headache, plus my teeth was hurting and I could not bite at all. All I could do was swallow, worsening my already-sore throat. But my family members kept asking me to eat and eat - they're afraid that I would be hungry later. Really felt like crying under all that pressure. The next morning I woke up with a bad cough. Gosh, what is happening to me?

Saturday, went out with my mom again, this time to OG Albert. They're having this 20% storewide discount, and I grabbed some pants, skirts and tees, for chinese new year. This year was quite different from last year, as I was then a last minute buyer, and my mom had to accompany me round and round and round Singapore because I couldn't find anything suitable. Maybe I have become more casual, in terms of thinking, since I bought quite a lot of clothes this year. Maybe my old shopping is boring motto is going to change, not by a lot though, as I still prefer to stay at home and rot. Haha.

Sunday, went out again with my mom and my aunt. Helped to buy clothes at People's Park for my grandmother. Didn't eat with them as I could not bite, and my teeth were hurting me. Started to cough like a crazy fellow and this old man which we shared the table with offered me cough candy. Thanks, uncle!! Or Ah Pek... haha. Shopped at OG People's Park for awhile then went home to watch Star Awards. What a glamourous affair it was. With diamante chandliers, beautiful outfits accompanied with numerous bling-blings. "Wow" is the word. Although I don't really like Fann Wong, I think that one of the main spark of tension happening in the studio was between her and rumoured beau, Christopher Lee. Both of which were too shy to even say "Hello" or any word of thanks for getting into Top 20 Most Popular Artistes. How to prove that they are just friends!?!?

Today, I just stayed at home to recuperate. I hope I'm getting better, so that I can go out to get contact lenses for myself before my cousin's wedding. To all people who are sick or not feeling well, that includes Vanessa - I read her blog - Get Well Soon!!

F E V E R

What a week. Actually planned to watch National Treasure yesterday, but I came down with a bloody fever. Felt HOT. Felt COLD. In fact, I felt so bad I did not even want to eat, which is so unlike the food-loving me. *sobs* Slept for practically the whole day but decided that I had better wake up before I lie in bed permanently. Choy!

A little better today. At least I don't feel hot when others feel cold and vice versa. Just running a slight temperature, and a bad case of sore throat. Drank almost the whole of my family's supply of water. But I have to be okay by onight or else I'll feel even more terrible tomorrow as the dentist will fix the lower half of my teeth with braces, and he says I'll feel more miserable and uncomfortable. The only thing that can make me happy is that, I can lose weight!! Haha, just to comfort myself.

Tuesday....

Didn't go out today. Stayed at home to clear my magazine cuttings. Was kind of tired clearing them because some of the cuttings were quite small and the wind keeps blowing it away. Arrghhh....

But, at least, I managed to clear another stack of things from my room, before it becomes an animal shed. Hopefully, I will be able to go out tomorrow, and catch the sneak preview of National Treasure before its actual release on Thursday. I may probably try contact lens as well, since I normally forget to wear my glasses when I go out, thus looking like a blind bat and a surface cleaner - I get so near the display to see what they have, I'm literally cleaning the surface.

However, now I'm very bored, because everyone is or going to be out of town, if not, busy earning money. So now, it's just me and the gogglebox. And Hi-5 is just so nice, I like this song - Heartbeat, it's playing this week, so go catch it!! Before and during the 'O's, I used to watch it when I remember or when I'm free, my sister said "my IQ will drop to zero" if I keep watching it. Whatever. As long as I have normal IQ, or even higher, I'm all right.

Backie backie....

I apologize for not blogging these past few days, been kinda busy sleeping...

Anyway, went out with Mom on Saturday to OG Albert and bought some clothes and shoes. Ate those corokke things from Corochan's Corokke at Parco Bugis Junction. Suddenly, my mom kept laughing. I thought she went mad then she pointed to her right. I saw this piece of cardboard man from Cold Storage, looking as lifelike as possible!! And my mom added he was looking damn cheeky with his moustache on, and couldn't control her fits of laughter.

Sunday, I woke up at 11.30am and proceeded to watch the gogglebox. Really boring, man. During and before the exams, all my favourite movies and programmes were screening, and I had to bear with the pain of letting others see them while I bury myself under my books. Arrghh...

Saw Evolution. Remember the three-eyed smiley, yup, that's it. Seann William Scott is absolutely funny. As I've mentioned to Syafiq via sms, he was singing to lure the weird flying bird, said "did some Chemistry at high school" while comparing qualifications like "scientist at some high school" or even has a doctorate. Haha. While looking for sodium sulphide, two guys actually knew that chemical is "an active ingredient in Head & Shoulders", and they emptied millions of bottles into this fire engine. I really could not control my laughter.

Today was much better. Did some packing at my Grandma's place. Found some articles I took from the papers and magazines. And.... I found something that will make Vanessa drool - this article about Cristiano Ronaldo!!! ("drool-vann-drool") Hehe, will pass it to you when I meet you someday.... Quite bored these days, after everyone has found jobs and left the country, leaving kangaroo here to rot away (WY, you know what I mean?)... Happy Holidays to all....

Oops, nearly forgot. Wanna wish Patricia a Happy Belated Birthday - 05 Dec, and Zuohan a Happy Birthday - 06 Dec.

Homebody

Hmm...staying at home watching VCD and using the computer today. Did not feel like going out after the spate of events that happened to me. Anyway, I just want to wish Joel and Qifan a very Happy Birthday today.

Had porridge for the whole day, as I could hardly bite with the 4 empty spaces in my mouth. It's been a really long time since I had been bo-gei (no teeth). But, after all this pain and torture, I'll have a new set of nicely-arranged pearly whites. Wee....! Currently, I'm watching 10 Things I Hate About You, starring Julia Stiles and Heath Ledger. Got this while shopping at Funan's Laserflair on Wednesday. I was also surprised to see Mean Girls being labelled NC16, Troy too. Even Blade (I and II) which was shown on TV some years back is now M18. How far can the labelling go? It's so lucky that I managed to watch Mean Girls and Troy before the Board of Censors introduced this stupid rule. I would have been very miserable if I did not watch them.

Anyway, Alexander, a movie that I have been waiting for a very long time, since I saw the news that it was going to be made in the papers is now M18!! How furious am I!!! Really, those people at the Board of Censors have nothing better to do, except restricting people like me from watching long-awaited movies. Luckily, National Treasure, which opens next week is only PG. If it was M18 [NC16 does not affect me anymore - :) ], I would really complain. So, if nothing goes wrong, I should be watching it next week, just before the follow-up of my dental appointment. Cripes!

big girls don't cry.

Sorry for not blogging yesterday, an error message kept appearing.

Went out with my mom yesterday to ICA building to make passport. Really simple, just fill in the form, paste photo, pay the bill of $60.00, and poof! collect it next Monday, the 6th of December. When I went home, I fell on the carpark ground because it was uneven. BOOM! My right leg was scratched heavily, and it kept bleeding. Poor me. The only thing comforting was that Taufik won Singapore Idol, not Sylvester.

Today, I went to the dentist. Wanted to put on braces and the dentist had to pull out some of my teeth, 4 1/2 to be exact. The injection that created the numbness so that I would not cry during the process also made my lips swollen. As if it was detached from my face. Eeeww. I could not talk for about 1 1/2 hours, and following the 3 hours, it was painful and it kept bleeding until I reached home after going to Orchard Road with my mom for some shopping. Had to eat porridge only because I couldn't really bite anything. Hope the pain goes away. Tooth fairy, where are you?
