Notice
To all dear dear supporters of my blog (and those who are not)...
I wouldn't be coming online till Saturday (3 December 2005) because my computer will be sent for 'under construction'. Pity me. I have no internet connection for almost 6 days! Maybe it's a sign for me to do some schoolwork for a change. Well, if you guys have anything urgent to let me know, SMS or call me instead. Ask around for my number, I think quite a number have it.
Take care. =)

December is Coming...
Been slacking for the past few days, went out shopping with my mom and read my storybook [Kate Kerrigan's Recipes For A Perfect Marriage]. I think I was too engrossed either that or the story's really written very well, I actually cried when I finished reading the book. I think the last part was really touching. As far as I remember, the last time I cried while reading was in Sec Two. Had been reading The Clay Marble, and when it came to the ending, I cried like a crybaby. Tears were streaming down and couldn't stop it. Each time I went back to finish the book, I think about the crying part and... tadaa~! started crying again. Luckily, this time I didn't use a lot of tissues.
This morning, I had a big scare. The computer wouldn't switch on! It kept giving this beep sound when I re-started from the CPU. I think I tried and tried for almost an hour before I gave up. After that, I nonchalantly switched it on and it worked! For a moment I thought all my precious photos, files and memories were going to be erased at the touch of the button! Immediately, I started to back-up but the PC seems to be sick or something. It went blank. So, now while I still can, I'm blogging in case it's being sent for repair for the next few days.

Reading the Weather
I went back to Damai Sec yesterday for the 2nd day of the camp. Played some games and shared some information about JC life and all that. So glad none of my juniors chose TPJC as their first choice - it's not worth it. Haha. Had dinner after that, and I guess there was ageism practised. Tsk tsk... this never happened when we were in the club. I guess we were one of the best batches. *grins*
Went back to school to complete our Econs project, again. Idiot librarian picked on the three of us, saying that we have to sign in again if we were to use the computer for another hour. Bloody hell, we used the computer for five hours the other day, she just slacked inside the librarian's room and shake leg, didn't even bother about us. Now, she's trying to be funny. Next time, I'll write my name for one whole page, and book the computer for one month! Unreasonable fellow!
Yin Chieh shared my sentiments that Cedric aka Robert Pattinson is handsome! Wee... great minds think alike!! Similarly, we both thought Viktom Krum is .... *pukes* We actually went to check out Cedric's pictures before starting on our powerpoint! Priorities...
Managed to complete our part of the powerpoint today and we can actually plan our script like one month ahead. Now left Shi Zhen and Yan Bing's part. Hope we can complete them soon!! Halfway completing our part, Jiun Hong SMSed me to say that it rained!! Tennis practice was cut short, because I had somewhat predicted the weather to be like that last night! Ooh.. I'm like the weather forecaster!! Who needs the weather read? Or maybe need a shorter training period? Please call me to book an appointment... Haha...
Going to play some games, read my storybook and watch a bit of TV later on, and maybe if I'm feeling good, I'll do some of my homework.
Till then...Labels: hunks, movies, school

Pong!
Yesterday went to school library to continue our sickening Econs project. I was in a rush that morning and I left for my grandma's place without my school uniform so I went there in my class jersey and pants instead. Idiotic librarian (stupid auntie) actually came up to tell me, "You're not supposed to wear this. You're only allowed in school uniform or half uniform." I left the place and waited for the rest to come. Luckily Yin Chieh was smart enough to call Yan Bing to bring an extra skirt for me. Of course, I strutted in with my newfound skirt and showed off. Econs is so boring!! Yup, the project is. Seeing so many facts and figures is enough to drive me crazy!! Still have to compile, do powerpoint and a 2-page writeup. Arghh...
Got to de-stress later when I met Syafiq and Wei Lin in Damai Sec at around 1600hrs. Com Club Camp in school, and it's kinda shocking to see the school change in a few ways. Security was stricter and we had to sign in at the security post, not before being asked many questions about our purpose of the trip and who we are, etc. Went up to see those guys playing mahjong [courtesy of Johnathan]!! Since I'm rather new to the game, I went to try my hand at it and man, it's getting more and more addictive... So glad to see Johnathan, Edwin and Kian Yan there... Johnathan's still a little crazy at times, always laughing and looking at people's tiles; Edwin is hippier with his dyed hair (?); and Kian Yan is still same old him, always thinking twice and thrice and who knows how many times before making a move and there were still questions asked about his sexuality... Hee (3 1/2 women at the mahjong table)... Jiun Hong was also there and Natasha came in later, with lots of her hysterical laughter and giggles. At around 1800hrs, we left as they went to do CIP. We kinda arranged to meet later today again, for games. Seriously, it doesn't look like a camp at all..
Another week's passed and my homework's still waiting for me... *act blur*

Freaking Freaks!!!
Went out to TM today. I was waiting to cross the road with my Aunt when I noticed this woman running towards our direction. She was wearing an eye-catching fushcia top with shorts (?) and running frantically in the rain. Another reason I noticed her was because she wasn't wearing br_. Then she started to approach us, my aunt and I were freaked out and quickly moved away from her. Seeing this, she went to approach this guy at the traffic light instead. She was speaking in Mandarin, something about helping her... Well, the guy kinda ignored her and she turned to us - AGAIN! *panic* Luckily the traffic light came just in time and we dashed to the other side of the road... I wondered who her next victim was...
Earlier, my sis came back from work and told me two Chinese nationals approached her near her workplace at Tanjong Pagar. Those two (one man, one woman) said they had no money to eat, just came over and were in unfamiliar grounds, didn't have a hotel to stay etc. So happened that my sis took out her purse to find change to board the bus and those two came to her. But so poor thing man, my sis only had two $10 notes in her purse and those two people keep pleading with her (pestering, I'd say). So she gave them one precious piece. After that, the Chinese man dared to ask for more! What the hell... now my sis doesn't know if she's being cheated or did she just helped somebody. Or maybe they were cheats... I mean, why would tourists come to Tanjong Pagar, a largely-working district? And so happened to appear (out of thin air, almost) when some defenceless lady draws out her purse? That gives some food for thought...
Two strange people in a day and they share some weird similarities. Wicked.

Blah.
Another day of my precious holiday has just passed. Did Econs project at the school's library yesterday and I also received Izzulwan's present... Thanks!
I'm kinda sick of all those homework but I have to do them! Everytime I see Econs (next!), Physics (sigh...), Math (HUH!) and last but not least, GP (Arghh...). Like that how to complete my homework?!?!
Channel5 played Harry Potter last night. Though I had watched it like 3 years ago, I still freak out at the sight of those eight-legged freaks - SPIDERS!! They are like the size of my table and they crawl! Eeew...
Meanwhile, I think I'm getting a little dizzy over Robert Pattinson or Cedric Diggory in HP(4)... Think he's quite good looking but I don't know whether he's handsome or not, after all, they are two different things. Well, he does have that kind of brooding good looks and he can try to do something about his hair, which can be real unruly at time.. Pity the internet doesn't have much of his pictures... *evil grins*
Looking forward to watching more movies, and preferably with more cute guys for me to ogle at. =PLabels: hunks, movies

The Goblet of Fire
The theatres were packed worst than sardines and the queue was longer than those that of the Great Singapore Sale. Yup, that's it. The craze for the latest Harry Potter instalment is still hot! Hot! HOT! Went to watch at Shaw Century today cos GV TM was really packed like sardine paste.
Overall, I give the movie between 3.5 to 4 stars out of 5. Couldn't decide and I thought that was the best grade - it didn't fit the 3.5 benchmark and yet it couldn't exceed the 4.0 benchmark.
The movie was moving at a super-fast pace, imagine squeezing the 740++ pages book into a 150 minute movie... Despite the pace, the director managed to capture the essence of the movie - The Triwizard Tournament - in a magnificently, splendid way. Really, if you read the book, I think it was the tournament tasks that were most well-acted out on screen. The Yule Ball was pretty nice too. You get to see the handsome, dashing, beautiful and breathtaking sides of the actors that you have never seen before. I especially love Neville Longbottom's ballroom dancing. I just thought he stood out from his peers (like Harry Potter, Cedric Diggory and other more famous characters), maybe it's the old-school charm or the ancient attraction. I think the actor who played Cedric Diggory - Robert Pattinson - is really much more good-looking than Harry Potter and Viktor Krum. Harry's more of the cute type while Cedric's different... maybe that's why Cho Chang chose him... Last but not least, I have to comment on Voldemort's face. Shall not reveal too much or else I may be sued. Realized that you haven't seen any of his pictures on the net? It's delibrately done to keep his appearance a secret. It's not fair to Ralph Fiennes who played that character. He's actually quite good-looking in real life, but reel life... he looks like "Eeew". Reminds me of some ugly, dirty character from LOTR...
After so much of my comments, I think you all should really go watch it with your own eyes and write your own comments and reviews, right? But, if possible, try to buy tickets early or else risk getting front row seats, which fortunately, I was the seated at the 3rd row from the front. Hee... and please go to the washroom before the movie starts, you don't wanna end up like me, holding my bladder for more than half the show because I didn't want to miss any part of the movie.
Till then, the movie buff signs off.Labels: hunks, movies

Potter Delayed
Arghh... just now at 1700hrs++, Kian Hong called and asked me if I can watch Harry Potter tonight at 2230hrs... Funny, as if I can go, if I can, pigs can fly and toilet rolls can talk...
Damn sad man. Today, contrasting to what I said, I didn't watch Harry Potter on its release date! First time since the three movies were released. Very sad. But today was super tired and had this splitting headache in the late morning, so I told myself I will watch it tomorrow, by hook or by crook. If I don't watch it tomorrow, I think I may become crazy.
Just realized I have been reading storybooks, playing the computer and having fun for the earlier part of the week. NO GOOD! Still got so much homework and my mom just won't stop nagging! Try harder tomorrow...

28
Yesterday was one hell of a fun day. First, I went off to meet Hei Wai, who gave me this super-cute Little Piglet bolster for my birthday present! Thanks!
Went off to meet Vanessa and Serene at Tanah Merah MRT for chalet. Went there by cab because we missed the bus and the taxi driver seemed quite blur - don't know where we're talking about. Luckily, we managed to get there.
Tuty, Chun Yan, Guan Hui and Wilfred were already there. Spent a while exploring the facilities and watching VCDs. So happened that one show we watched had a number of scenes that showed nudity. Eeeww. Went off to play tennis later. It's quite fun, actually. Though sometimes the ball just wouldn't go over the net or not, it went sideways. Serene was busying tanning herself, but in the end, got a bit sunburnt. Oops. Went back when there was loads of thundering.
By that time, most of the people have already reached. Watched this so-called new version of Terminator 3 with Serene and the spoofs were real funny! Pity us - we had to hear and watch it under the staircase! Tried my hand at mahjong later, and man, I think I wanna play that again sometime. It's addictive. Though I still have loads to learn from the experts like Zuohan, Serene and Guan Hui.
Went upstairs to write those "memo-cards", because I had to leave early. Frankly, it was the first time I had ever done such a thing. I think I wrote a little over 10 cards in like forty minutes! My mind was in a whirl and my hand ached after that.
Damn, I hate curfews. Super hate curfews. [Maybe if I was a guy, it's better?] Had to be back by 2200hrs and there was not a cab in sight! Where were they when you needed one?!?! Finally, I waited till the shuttle bus came and as soon as it reached Tanah Merah MRT, I sped till the taxi available and went home. Alas, I reached home at 10 sharp! Phew. Must really thank Van, Zuohan and Serene for accompanying me to wait outside the chalet, praying for a taxi and seeing me off. Even Serene started to get disillusioned that red ants were crawling over her.
Last but not least, I just wish to say a big, BIG, BIG THANK YOU to all those present - (not in any order) Van, Serene, Chun Yan, Tuty, Eileen, Zuohan, Wilfred, Guan Hui, Junhao, Joseph, Guan Hui, Weijie, Mingwei, and Thaddeus. Thank you guys for inviting me, and making me feel a part of you all. Thanks for giving(and writing) the "memo-card"; for waiting for me (Van, Serene and Zuohan); for walking me out (Van); for the pasta (Eileen); for making me feel at home (Tuty) and many other things.
It's been a memorable time.Labels: friends

Crossroads
Had Math lecture for four long hours today. Sit until I was numb all over. Later, S.K.Y. went to rummage through the classroom which stored the A level exam papers. Managed to find our AO Chinese papers and to Yin Chieh's joy, Orange Bag's paper! She was like soooo happy, practically screaming or shrieking in joy.
Went to SPH to collect my prize - 2 in-store Jay Chou November's Chopin posters. Went all the way to Braddell MRT station only to discover that I could have actually taken bus 59 to SPH instead. What a country bumpkin I am. Then, went to meet my mom after her dental appointment. She extracted her tooth, and she can't really talk. So I was trying my best not to agitate her, but it was an opportunity too good to be missed.
Went Century Square after that, and I actually splurged on nail polish! Damn foolish of me... actually wanted one colour only, then I saw another colour which was also nice. And the sales assistant also managed to persuade me to get top/base coat and nail stickers. Spent like almost 40 bucks. But, never mind, I'll take that as a strike off my wishlist. Oh well, that was a good salesperson. Saw Hui Yan and Suting outside CS later, it's been so long since I saw them and they have grown prettier!
Ahhh... Harry Potter's opening in like 2 days and the seats are almost fully occupied!! I don't care. I will squeeze myself in! Hmmph!
PS. Thanks to Zuohan (for singing such a weird birthday song, though I think his normal voice sounds nicer), Joseph and Serene for their birthday wishes! Better late than never, and thanks alot! I appreciate that!Labels: school

November's Chopping!
Spent the weekend sleeping till noon. Then, I did a little bit of the never-ending pile of homework and read 1 out of the 8 library books I borrowed.
From this morning till about 1400hrs, I was repeatedly spinning November's Chopin until I decided to stop for fear that the disc may spoil after 3 days of crazy spinning and that I might eventually get sick of those songs (which is so not going to happen).
Well, being sixteen was fun. Full of joy, laughter, tears, angst and other mumble-jumbled feelings that cannot be described in words. Alas, the time has come to move on. To add another year to my age. To be or act more matured. To do a lot of things better than they were done when I was sixteen.
This year, there were so many people giving me birthday greetings!! So touched and happy that they remembered and made the effort to send a simple SMS or an online message. These people included: Izzulwan, Shi Zhen, Vanessa, Johnathan, Chun Hian, Chee Leong, Hei Wai, Wan Yee, Suting, Joy, Vernon, Puay Ling, Hui Yan, Yin Chieh, Shi Xian, Kar Koon and counting (?) . Thank you guys so much, it definitely made turning seventeen better!
Love you all loads!Labels: friends

Double
Went to the library today and I saw a notice that mentioned that they allow members to borrow twice the amount of books they can during the months of November and December. Being the kiasu Singaporean, I borrowed the full limit - 8. Luckily I brought a haversack, or else, I wonder how am I gonna bring all the books back?
Spent some well-deserved (?) money today on November's Chopin. The songs are so nice and there are some tracks that are glued to my mind. Can't really sing the faster song cos I really can't mumble that fast. And the 'Fa Ru Xue' (Snow-like Hair) MV is damn nice, man... reincarnated love, past and present lives... I think I fell in love with the song!!
Can't wait for the fourth instalment of Harry Potter movie! Hopefully, there's company when I watch it next Thursday... haha...
Till then...

The Human Mind
Found this off a website today... something about how the human mind works...
"Aoccdrnig to rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn't mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoetnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteer be at the rghit pclae. I think it should be rather easy to follow, right? I guess that's the reason why people can literally 'scan' books and yet know the content in a matter of minutes. It all depends on your brain, doesn't it?
Enjoy!Labels: quizzes

OP's Over... Finally!
I apologize for not blogging these past few days... Been busying myself with OP presentation, my script and I&R.
Met up with my PW group on Monday and Tuesday to finalize our powerpoint presentation. It was real tiring. Even made changes to my script one day prior to OP. Then, I spent Wednesday memorising my script. It sort of freaked me out as I could still clearly remember, when it was lights out on Wednesday night, I suddenly got up to recite my script once again.
Thursday finally. With Mr Larry Lim and Miss Patricia Koh as our assessors. Freaking scary, especially when they know you and have taught you before. They asked pretty weird and abstract questions and I almost panicked for my friends out there.
Our turn finally came and my heart started beating harder than it ever has. But, the bloody keyboard was jammed, left-mouse faulty, and we had to rely on the bleeping scroller. The problem was that it kept repeating our slides, causing incoherence between our slides and speech. My turn came, and I thought I made enough eye-contact and was projecting my voice loud enough.
Q&A was the killer. Apparently, Miss Koh didn't seem very convinced by my answer... she looked kinda forced accepting my answer and raised her eyebrows... *pray hard*
Went for lunch and came back, thinking that we might be audience for the afternoon session... who knows we're not needed anymore, so we joined Shi Zhen and her friend, Chin Shyan. Did our I&R in the library and pleaded for some explanation of the requirements of the I&R from our PW teacher.
It so happened that our assessors were still discussing in the classroom! Afraid that we might be penalized for the technical fault, Yin Chieh helped Shi Zhen and I ask Mr Lim about that. He said it was affected, but somehow, Shi Zhen couldn't take it. Afterall, it seems that it will affect the overall effect afterall. Somehow, she said something which triggered my tear glands and I broke down after she did... leaving Chin Shyan lost at having to comfort two crybabies at one time. Luckily, it has subsided and we're all okay now. No worries.
Did I&R till late last night and finally handed it up! So happy!! A fullstop to the PW chapter.
Now, I'm going to try and complete those disgusting homework + revision and have fun!

OP Rush
So happy this two days.
Had an early celebration of my birthday yesterday because there'll be something on next week. Had some yummy Teochew dishes at a restaurant and a Tiramisu birthday cake! *licks lips* Also, I finished reading P.S. by Helen Schulman, a rather nice book, I'd say. Of course, I continued to do my holiday homework later. Blah.
Today's PW started off with a chocolatey-bang as we celebrated Shi Zhen's birthday! We knew some of her deep, dark secrets and some provocative shots were taken by Vernon and Meng Wee! Don't ever publish them... or she would lose her 'yu nu' image.
Had to wait about 2 hours for an empty PW classroom. In the meantime, I chanced upon some beautiful poster (something that's going on at Singapore Science Centre and Hayden Christensen) 'on the "floor"', and Shi Zhen was sort of my accomplice when I 'picked' it up. Finally got a classroom later but was chased out by those Aunties. In the end, we practised in the library instead. Now, I gotta do more research (two days more!) and expand and extend my script.
Shit~ been snacking lately, on those ultra-cheap Doritos' natchos and Lay's chips that I got. Gotta slim down! Haha, is it a fat hope or a slim chance?

Scratch
Hari Raya holiday yesterday and I spent some of it doing homework, some of it eating and some of it slacking.
I actually spent like 10minutes trying to open this can of luncheon meat. Luckily I was not that hungry or else I could have fainted while opening it. This can came with its own opener, those kind with a key then you twist it to open upon the perforated lines. But I turned left, and turned right, the thing just wouldn't budge, so I went back to use the conventional can-opener. Sometimes, old things work best.
I realized that there is much time to OP and the submission of I&R. I really don't know what to write for I&R... not that we had lots of ideas and mistakes for our PW. Even if we had one, we tried to get over it with our warped reasoning. Oops.
Went out to meet Wan Yee, Grace and Hei Wai at Bedok Interchange. Had lunch at KFC. Chatted about school, work, guys and some of the usual stuff. Some uncool(?) friend of Grace came to join us, never say 'Hi' and normal introductory stuff. Not that we look like wolves right, one word from your mouth and we're gonna bite you.
Gonna work on my OP speech and I&R now, or maybe tomorrow. After that, I'm free! Then I can go sing KTV (with Wan Yee, Grace and Hei Wai), watch movie (with Van after 'rejecting her offer') and maybe just really sleep more.
Ciao, people.

Happy Deepavali...
Ooh! The start of a beautiful month - the month of November!
Today's Yin Chieh's birthday too and I wished her at around eight in the morning today. Well, her birthday means the start of the November birthdays for S.K.Y. of 05S24! 1st - Yin Chieh, 7th - Shi Zhen and 14th - Me! I'm not trying to hint at anything but isn't it such a coincidence that three Scorpio girls also happen to be such good friends as well?
