Cheese
Had my so-called last movie marathon of the year 2005 as I don't think I will be watching any more movies for the next two days.
Watched Wallace & Gromit:The Curse of the Were-Rabbit. I'll give it 4 out of 5 stars? Truly enjoyed myself throughout the show and the rabbits were sooo cute!! [look below] The story is also hilarious in some way or another and the characters were all recorded frame by frame using clay! Such hardwork!! By the way, the mini movie before the show - The Madagascar Penguins in the Christmas Caper. I really loved the penguins... remember "You didn't see anything..."?
Next, I went to watch The Family Stone. I think I'll just give 3 out of 5 stars. The movie started off a little bit chaotic and I thought the family was a little rude and crude in a sense. It wasn't until till the middle of the movie that I caught hold of the story. I guess the story 'captured' me cos I cried about three times throughout the whole movie and they were like flowing down like streams. A little bit embarrassing cos there was this couple beside me and there I was, trying to act tough...
Collected my new spectacles later on... a little different from m current design but I won't be wearing it too frequently since I'll be wearing contacts more frequently.
Anyway, I'm still looking for a tape recorder. Got one or two unconfirmed ones but I still feel a little insecure... haha... hopefully, someone can help me...Labels: movies

'Tis The Season To Be Jolly....
Had a pleasant Christmas. I actually made a mistake of sending "Merry X'mas" smses to my friends on Christmas Eve, and I only realized that after I sent all of them. Ahh... it's too late now so I hope none of them noticed. Hee.
It was a movie holiday - saw Ocean's Eleven on X'mas Eve; Princess Diaries and Sweet Home Alabama on X'mas Day. I also saw the 2005 MTV Movie Awards, where my FAVOURITE movie of all time, The Notebook, won awards for Breakthrough Female and Best Kiss!! ........ What's gonna make me cry is that on 1 Jan 2006, where the 2005 Teens Choice Awards is on TV, I'm gonna miss it!! This is because I have to attend my cousin's wedding at Sentosa and I doubt there's a decent TV in sight!! The Notebook won EIGHT FREAKING AWARDS!!! I wanna bring some form of TV along!! Or any kind hearted soul would help me tape down the whole thing? I think I will reward you with almost anything that you ask for, of course, don't make it so expensive... I'm not earning yet, you know?!?! Thinking of it makes me feel like banging my head against the TV screen.
Went out to K-ster with Wan Yee and Grace today. Sang for four hours before leaving the place. Nice gathering and we took some pictures with Grace's very cool Moto Razr Black. I want those pictures!!
Earlier, I had lots of things in my mind to blog, but after seeing how much precious TV time I'm gonna miss on 1 Jan 2006, my mind just blanked out!!
So, I appeal again, whoever is free and kind and can kindly help me record the Teens Choice Awards on this coming Sunday at 1.30pm to 3.15pm, I will really reward you!!! No kidding!! I'm really that desperate!!! If you so happen to fulfill those conditions above, inform me via SMS, ok? Love you!!!Labels: movies

Fuzziness
Went to watch Pride & Prejudice today. I'll rate it 3 and a half out of 5 stars. I left the cinema with a warm fuzzy feeling in my heart. Although it's set in the past, what the characters feel and express in the story is still the same as the present. The sweaty palms when you want to say to someone you like; the sudden divergence of topic when you're alone with him/her; the sleepless nights; the tongue-tiedness and so many other 'symptoms' I'm sure alot of people experience.
Isn't it wonderful when two people who couldn't get along initially be together in the end? Sounds kinda familiar right? Or maybe very familiar. It's nice to watch such shows with those 'happily-ever-after' at the end. Though some times, in the movies, it may be too fairytale-liked and may never ever happen in reality but who cares... an escapism for 3 hours is just nice to get out of the harsh reality.
Haven't got time to watch Perhaps Love yet. The timings are decreasing so I'm gonna have to watch it soon before the run ends. Till then.Labels: movies

Kong Lives
Went to watch King Kong on Saturday. I'll give it 3 and a half stars out of 5 for frightening the life out of me.
King Kong looks real enough, and even resembles us, humans, at some times. The natives all had strange piercings and haunting gazes! What I found really eerie was the amount of dinosaurs, carnivorous or not, there were. Imagine being treated as lunch by 3 T-Rexs and constantly facing one after escaping another. Luckily, King Kong was there to save Naomi Watts from these creatures. Another of those frightening stuff was those extremely large bugs and slug-like creatures with teeth. Eeew. Imagine them being magnified to the size of your legs. Run for your life! Hmm... Think I better stop describing them or else there would be no element of surprise left in the movie~! Well, I felt sad for King Kong in the end, after all, he was not suited for life in NYC but in Skull Island. Man should never try to capture wildlife... look at the horrible endings... And Jack Black is another idiot. All he cares about his film, fame and fortune at the expense of other's lives and everything else "at the price of an admission ticket".
This is the first time I left the cinema with sweaty palms and feet so I think you guys reading should watch it since I think most of you have more guts than me.
Well, that's all. I know I haven't been blogging much this past week but nothing interesting happened so I might as well not bore you guys too much. Should I not blog in the next few days, here's wishing you guys an early MERRY CHRISTMAS!Labels: movies

Enya's Amarantine
You've probably heard this song a hundred times on TV, but have you looked at the lyrics? Though it sounds haunting, I thought it truly reflects what people feel in their hearts...
You know when you give your love away it opens your heart, everything is new. And you know time will always find a way to let your heart believe it's true.
You know love is everything you say; a whisper, a word, promises you give. You feel it in the heartbeat of the day. You know this is the way love is.
[Chorus] x2 Amarantine... Amarantine... Amarantine... Love is. Love is. Love...
You know love may sometimes make you cry, so let the tears go, they will flow away, for you know love will always let you fly - how far a heart can fly away!
[Chorus] x3
You know when love's shining in your eyes it may be the stars fallen from above. And you know love is with you when you rise, for night and day belong to love. Labels: lyrics

The Time Has Come
Another few days have passed and I find myself doing nothing at all. GP writeup's still a big question mark and Econs' still untouched - dirt and dust all intact.
Went shopping around Bugis and other eastern shopping areas on Sunday. I actually bought a dress~! The last time I wore one was like in Primary 3, or Primary 4 at most. But I was attracted to it at first sight so I thought I should persuade my mom to get it for me... and she did! Went on to buy a few tops later so as to match my assorted bottoms I got from the past few weeks. But I came to realize later on that the tops/bottoms I buy were nice in their own way and they don't really match each other. So, I guess there will be another round of shopping.
Well, went to John Little over at White Sands. I must say there wasn't any clothes there at all... only beauty stuff like nail polish, hair dyes etc. It wasn't like that last time. While at there, I took time to admire the Randall Tan poster behind the counter, with two days' worth of stubble. Yummy.
Went for lunch and shopping with my mom at Wisma Atria. Well, the clothes are quite expensive and of course with my kinda size (which is expanding by the day), I can't get anything. So, after that disappointing day, I decided to go on a healthy diet to shed the fat and lose the weight. It's going to be hard to accomplish since Christmas is coming and my love for food is insatiable, but I'll (try to) manage. I need divine help!
Meanwhile, I'm vexing on the need for a wallet. I haven't found another 'perfect' wallet, one that instantly attracts me (like the dress I bought) and looks real good. That's the reason why I'm still using the same old wallet. Most of the places I checked out were like selling the same kind of wallet that I don't want. Maybe this season's collection are all those that are not my type.
Earlier, while I was filling in my blog, something bad happened. My phone was giving those reminders again and my aunt passed me my phone. My phone dropped. Not that it was the problem, it drops so regularly, my mom has stopped panicking for me everytime it lands on the ground. The thing was - my keychain broke. The one with the pink heart. Think those who are around me most of the time would have seen it. I first bought it with just a keychain in mind. But after sensing the so-called change in events after that, I thought it brought me romance (haha, laugh for all you want). So when the keychain got lost the first time, I bought the second and the current one. Now, the two sides of it broke into two. Maybe it's time to let go of something that I have held so dearly to me this year. One of motivation, strength and support. I have actually started to let go a few months ago, but something within me always held back from letting it go completely.
I guess now it's time.Labels: school

Getting to Know Myself Better...
Got this off Chui Ting's blog... it's quite scary cos every aspect mentioned seemed to be so true... try it out!
Your view on yourself: Other people find you very interesting, but you are really hiding your true self. Your friends love you because you are a good listener. They'll probably still love you if you learn to be yourself with them.
The type of girlfriend/boyfriend you are looking for: You like serious, smart and determined people. You don't judge a book by its cover, so good-looking people aren't necessarily your style. This makes you an attractive person in many people's eyes.
Your readiness to commit to a relationship: You are ready to commit as soon as you meet the right person. And you believe you will pretty much know as soon as you might that person.
The seriousness of your love: You are very serious about relationships and aren't interested in wasting time with people you don't really like. If you meet the right person, you will fall deeply and beautifully in love.
Your views on education: You may not like to study but you have many practical ideas. You listen to your own instincts and tend to follow your heart, so you will probably end up with an unusual job.
The right job for you: You're a practical person and will choose a secure job with a steady income. Knowing what you like to do is important. Find a regular job doing just that and you'll be set for life.
How do you view success: You are afraid of failure and scared to have a go at the career you would like to have in case you don't succeed. Don't give up when you haven't yet even started! Be courageous.
What are you most afraid of: You are concerned about your image and the way others see you. This means that you try very hard to be accepted by other people. It's time for you to believe in who you are, not what you wear.
Who is your true self: You are mature, reasonable, honest and give good advice. People ask for your comments on all sorts of different issues. Sometimes you might find yourself in a dilemma when trapped with a problem, which your heart rather than your head needs to solve.

Love-Hate
Been having an easy-going two days. I actually removed my homemade pedicure. Feel kinda sad to remove it, cos I spent like almost one hour on it... the stickers and colour and all that. But it was starting to fade and I don't wish to put on another coat so... it's gone!
Last Friday was Damai's Prom and it's kinda funny. I looked at the juniors' blogs, none of them like mentioned it was a memorable event or even posted pictures. Is is that bad to have it in a hotel? Maybe the hall was better in some way or another. Anyway, I managed to save some pictures of them... very rare, so I won't be posting them out. Private collection.
Hmm.. so bored and I have to go out later to renew my broadband connection. Two years already, isn't that fast? Time really flies and I think I've got to learn how to make it worthwhile. *shrugs*

8 Freaking Wasted Days~!!
This is gonna be a super-long post.
Been MIA for the past eight days. My computer broke down again and I couldn't start after kicking it, swearing at it and whatever illogical methods that technicians don't usually do. For the first few days, I could cope well. I started on a bit of Math stuff and even completed a few exercises! Hooray! After that, I start to wonder 1) why am I feeling so empty; 2) why am I watching cartoons at the hours I usually go online; 3) why do my fingers find their way to the un-plugged keyboard... that's when I realized I'm under this 'cold-turkey' for computers.
Just logging into the internet barely an hour ago, I feel this familiar rush of excitement within me. What a nice feeling. My blog's like non-existent. My mailbox's flooding. My friends' blogs are so full of entries. I have started to think I have gone back to the 20th century.
>>> So, let the updates begin... Well, I have finished another mystery novel by Kate White - A Body To Die For. Her titles are really spoofing on cliche phrases. This novel revolves around the protagonist finding a dead body in a spa. Her next novel, 'Til Death Do Us Part, also plays on the death of the bridesmaid. But I guess reading can wait. I need to do revision!
Had a class chalet on the 5,6 and 7 of December. I didn't go because of some idiotic food poisoning. It's like one of the worse things that can happen to you. You can have the flu bug or cough, but you can still go out. You can have fever and you rest for maybe one day at most and freedom is yours to take! But, when you have food poisoning, you are stuck at home. Unless you want to spend 90% of your time outside in some smelly toilet, 5% of your time finding one and the other 5% walking about on the streets wondering when's the next attack coming. Luckily, it's all over.
Due to the lack of surfing, I have gone back to the "pre-historic" form of surfing - channel surfing. Watched cartoons like Justice League and Spongebob Squarepants (who lives in a pineapple under the sea~? SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS!...). Well, speaking of which, Spongebob Squarepants is actually quite a nice cartoon. It actually mimics stuff in the real world into Spongebob's world. I guess that are what cartoons generally are, teaching young little children and not-so-young people like me, life's little luxuries, principles and ironies.
Star Awards was another of those annual stuff I look forward to, though not as much as when I was younger. The usual display of costumes. This year's event was quite mild. No fancy costumes. No outrageous outfits. Just very formal. No aprons. No very low-cuts or extremely bare-backed costumes. I guess that's just as well. Viewers just concentrate on the show and nowhere else.
Been looking forward to watching so many movies this December~!! It seems that all the movies come either at June or December... peak period, I guess.
+ Pride & Prejudice + Perhaps Love + King Kong + The Chronicles of Narnia + The Promise + The Family Stone
Just a few of them, though I may not watch ALL of them. I haven't quite recovered from my burnt wallet a couple of days ago. Hopefully, this Christmas will have everyone buying what I want and need! Not only does it makes me happy, it gives the buyer a greater sense of satisfaction because he/she knows that his/her gift is needed and wanted.
To finish off, I wish to give belated on-blog birthday wishes to those I know... 3 Dec ~ Joel and Qifan 5 Dec ~ Johnathan and Patricia 6 Dec ~ Zuohan
Yup, that's all for today. Hope I gave my eight days' worth of blogging entries here. Happy Holidays!!Labels: movies

Beep Bleep...
Wow, it feels good to be back. To wrap my hands around the contours of the mouse. To feel the ergonomic design of the keyboard. To view other people's blogs. To chat on MSN. To do whatever things on the net. Ahhh....
Well, since I have not been able to use the computer for the past few days... I went out! Actually bought my next year's supply of contact lenses, a number of DVDs, novels and a couple of cute stuff. I actually spent my savings of ten months in two days! What shopping can do... I wondered if that was retail therapy as I didn't feel really good after spending that much. Tighter purse strings now, I guess...
December starts today and my pile of work remains as high as ever. Gonna start doing some revision or else I may be literally fried by my mom. Tried to do some today but my fingers kept creeping over to the novel I'm currently reading - Kate White's If Looks Could Kill. Kinda hooked to mystery-violence-romance books these days. Even my sister said I'm reading more serious fiction than her. Food for thought.
Meanwhile, I've got a class chalet next week! Hmm... now kinda contemplating whether to go or not because I'm quite broke - I have to pay for the chalet, duh? Somemore, they are going night cycling, or as what Meng Wee have mentioned. I don't really dread it but.... I think some of my closer friends know why I avoid being mentioned with that word altogether... Well, I should be going if nothing goes wrong. Only time can tell.
