Torino 2006
Oh, I failed to mention earlier in my previous posts that Torino 2006 is really quite a good watch. The Winter Olympics has caught my eye since the day it came out. Though I cannot be bothered to watch the 'live' telecasts, but the summary at 5pm daily is really damn exciting.
Caught free skating and figure skating for the past few days and wow, I'm amazed and in awe of the flexibility and the gracefulness of these participants. Japan's Shizuka Arakawa was so good, that it got her a GOLD!! Plus, she's quite pretty too (kawaii neh!). Other sports like curling, bobsled, ice hockey, aerial and ski jumping were also very exciting. You wonder how they can do 5 twists, 3 turns etc. in mid air. Powerful!

Haha, not as if I know them very well, but I think they're so pro!! (Duh! If not, how to represent the country?!) Till then, ciao guys. Labels: tv

Complains...
Been kinda sick the whole of last week, which explains the absence of posts.
First of all, my Valentine's Day rose had died. So sad. I was at least hoping to see it bloom a little. Secondly, I have to talk about that contact lens hoo-ha! Damn! I had to be using the B&L ReNu contact lens solution... *grumbles* and I've stopped using it for the time being, I guess. The thing is, I just started using a fresh pair of monthly disposables two days before the news broke out. Damn lucky, man. Now, I have to endure bloody headaches during lessons because I seriously can't stand wearing specs for a long period of time. Also, I think I'm kinda self-conscious of how I look in specs. I mean, since I don't fancy the way I look in specs, how can I expect others to fancy me in specs? In fact, lots of people were like, "Eh, you wear specs one, meh?" But, one thing I can be glad is that I can flaunt my new metallic maroon specs. *grins*
Anyway, I've been banning or boycotting some of my canteen food stalls. The picture of this worm in the economic rice has kinda deterred me from buying from there anymore. And yesterday, while queueing up at the chicken rice stall, Shi Zhen and I spotted this maggot crawling on top of the braised egg! Freaky man. The teeny weeny living thing was having fun exploring the surface of the egg! And the worse thing was that some JC1 student ordered braised egg after us. It is so disgusting as Yin Chieh mentioned they use the same knife to cut the egg too! Eeew!
Math lessons is also getting bad to worse. She is going so so so so fast!! I admit I may not have done all my tutorials on time, but I wasn't so lost during lesson before!! Even my friends can feel like speed too. Gosh, how I wish my teacher could change for one day, maybe a week, a month or even forever!! Hee hee... wishful thinking on my part.
Our school has also started collecting money for Prom 2006. Sadly, lots of people are not attending!! I don't know what to say... just feel so sad.
Well, I have to go now - loads of stuff to do. Ciao.Labels: school

St. Valentine
Happy Valentine's Day, everybody!!
I nearly thought I had to spend this day unwell as I was suffering from a fever since Sunday night. But I still went for the Physics SPA on Monday, which couldn't be easier to make me pass time better. Math lessons was much much worse. I seriously don't know what she's rushing for... Keeps mentioning that "we're seriously behind time" when we see other classes two tutorials before us. Who are the "the other classes" that's so fast? In fact, my headache worsened after that.
Went to see the doctor later and was told of that I had a mild food poisoing, something which I didn't know of. Got some very colourful medicine after that plus an MC. However, due to much "encouragement" from my friends that since the next day is Valentine's Day, I still went to school. =)
Then today, the shower of gifts began. Loads of chocolates, sweets and other candies were exchanged. I think I left out a lot of people, really sorry about that... I guess I'll make up for it next year? Gosh, I'm so insensitive, right? Anyway, I received way much more gifts from last year - first time. It's on such a large scale!!
During the break, Yin Chieh and I were wondering why this group of girls were standing in front of us, flaunting their flowers. Maybe irritated or jealous, we went for a walk. And on the way back, we got a rose!! We were estatic!! It either came from Royce or the guys in the class. At that time, Yin Chieh promptly named it Rose Royce (geddit?). GP was even more fun. Supposed to do AQ but we ended up talking, playing music, singing... doing everything except the AQ. And Jason even managed to talk the teacher into handing up the AQ tomorrow! Way to go!
This, I think was such a memorable day. Hope it is for every single one today.Labels: school

 Handwriting Quiz
The results of your analysis say: You plan ahead, and are interested in beauty, design, outward appearance, and symmetry. You are a shy, idealistic person who does not find it easy to have relationships, especially intimate ones. You are affectionate, passionate, expressive, and future-oriented. You are not very reserved, impatient, self-confident and fond of action. You are self-confident and like to bring attention to yourself.
Hmmm... not exactly accurate but almost there.Labels: quizzes

Roach in Cab!
Ahhh!! Last night, while going home, there was a cockroach in the taxi! *screams* It was damn scary. My sister discovered it at the window beside her, just as she was about to lean on it! Phew, luckily she didn't. Throughout the whole journey, our eyes were on the bloody insect and we came out of the taxi with a big headache... Tried to take a picture of it, but my camera's so lousy it's not very clear... I even had to use my sister's mini-torchlight because it was too dark. Freaky trip, man. Labels: thoughts

Tensions
After much waiting, the O Level results are finally out! It seems that quite a number are rather sad or disappointed with their results. Kian Yan and Edwin did well - Congrats! - and I do hope Johnathan does cheer up cos I think I miss his laughter. Benjamin also seem happy with his results, so I guess it's quite okay. Hopefully, all goes well for posting.
Skipped Chinese today. They're playing some Jackie Chan movie. *pukes* I'd rather go home than see a Jackie Chan movie. Waste my time and everything else. Went TM to walk-walk and bought Yoshinoya takeaway home. And I slept for 3 hours later. Damn it, looking more and more like a pig now...
Gonna have CNY dinner this Sunday. Arghh... another way of putting on weight again...Labels: friends

Change
Whee... changed my blogskin last night. I think it's not bad. I spent about 3 hours copying and pasting stuff from my previous blog into this new one. What a nice piece of work, right?
Anyway, I haven't been posting much lately. I guess it's due to fatigue. For these past few days, it's been coming home early, having lunch, doing homework and then falling asleep for like four hours? Very tired, no choice. But it's strange why I can't sleep early too... my sleeping time has gone back from 12am++ to almost 1am or later.
Well, currently, physics lecture is rather entertaining. This is because our lecturer is so cute!! Haha, I don't mean his looks but his behaviour and everything. He says it's his first year using powerpoint to teach (previously: transparencies), and he actually burned a wire whilst doing a experiment in the LT! It's even funnier when he further demonstrates other stuff. But overall, he teaches quite well, that's why we kinda follow him to whichever LT he teaches. I still remember last Thursday, when we thought he was still teaching in LT1. We got there and saw Mr Liew, and we ran straight towards LT3! Talk about running for your lives!
Had our annual road run today at East Coast Park. Reached at 0740hrs, which was about 10 minutes late, but I guess I wasn't penalized. It's the first time I'm late this year... Arghh.. luckily it's not recorded. Anyway, the girls did a 3.2km run while the guys did a 4.8km one. At the beginning, I was running with Shi Zhen and Yan Bing. But I kinda sped up a bit after the halfway mark. It was tiring and I'm so happy I got the 169th position!! That was a great improvement from last year's 268th! Although I didn't get any prizes or was not in the Top 100, who cares? I did my best. Waited for the girls to come back and then we went to watch the guys run. They're like so fast, man. The fastest came back in about 18 minutes. We were all looking out for the various faces of the guys and the barang barang they brought. Some of them were real funny (oh, I know I'm mean here) and there was this guy who was carrying his bag and bottle, as if his life depended on it. The prize presentation was an even bigger surprise. Well, the school was kind enough to separate the teachers' categories into 'young' and 'old'. So our class teacher got 3rd in the 'old' category. You have to admit he's quite a fast runner for his age, he runs faster than me!! Haha!! This really gives the aunties and uncles a chance to shine. Jason did our class proud and got 20th in the guys' round!! Even a bigger surprise is that my house - GREY house - got 2nd place!! And we didn't even go up to the stage to collect prizes as often as other houses!!
Went home after that, and I dozed off again! Haha, old habits die hard, eh?
By the way, O Level results coming out on Friday!! All the best to those who are waiting for their results!!!Labels: blog-related, friends

The Year of the Dog!!
Gonna post some updates on my CNY celebrations!!
CNY's Eve Had reunion dinner at my Grandma's place as well as my fifth uncle's place. Can you imagine eating two dinner shares all in one night, and all the adults just know how to say "eat more, eat more" and they'll even put the dishes on your plate themselves. Ah, for the spirit of CNY...
I hurriedly painted my toenails at night, but I did it in the aircon room so everyone else was like "suffocating" because of the smell. Hmm... who cares? As long as I get my nails done.
Day One Went over to my Fifth Uncle's place the first thing. Had lunch and chatted a bit. Realized there was a TPJC relative, someone I didn't know or recognize even though I saw him last year. Oops. Went to my Grandma's place and ate again. I guess CNY puts you in an eating mood.
For dinner, I went to my Fifth Uncle's place again, because they said they still had lots of food left. Need help to finish them. Such a coincidence, I saw on my relatives stuff I had planned to do for myself. Like this Swatch watch I planned to get but didn't (because I lost interest in it), I saw it on my cousin's hand! And a nail polish colour that I wanted to paint but didn't was on my Aunt's manicure/pedicure. Saw some programmes on cable while my relatives gambled away. I didn't join them partly because of the high stakes involved and my lack of knowledge of other games they played.
Day Two Went to my First Uncle's place and had some of their unique snacks which included this fried brinjal thing. Then, went for lunch at this restaurant near Jalan Besar and *yummy* the food was really nice. Especially the noodles. I think I had at least 5-6 chopped green chilies along with each mouthful of noodles. After that dish, my voice changed into this husky tone. Ooh.. sexy. Haha. Then went over to my First Aunt's place. Everyone (mostly elder folk) was busy trying out the Osim iSqueeze. Then, there was gambling as usual. Did more visiting later and for the last part of the day, I spent probably 5 hours at my cousin's place. The elder folks actually played mahjong during that duration. Of course, I didn't join them, so I spent that 5 hours watching cable on their TV. I literally became a 'couch potato' there. Saw movies like Hero, Jumanji, Turn Left Turn Right and House of Flying Daggers. Most of them is either watch starting till middle, or from middle to end, none of which the full show. Man, Turn Left Turn Right is such a lame show! Luckily I didn't watch it during Chinese class. It's like wasting my time... Had supper at Changi Village later and went home! About time too, my contacts were starting to irritate me after 13 hours of usage.
Day Three Stayed at home! Slept till quite late and some of my classmates were contemplating visiting Mr Liew's place... Eeew. He say no red packets if we go, then we go there to see his face arh? In the end, no one went. I don't think anyone can stand being in the same room with him. Finished up some homework then go sleep already! First time can sleep so early this year!! I have been sleeping at almost 1 in the morning these past few weeks and luckily, no one mentioned about my panda eyes.
I think I left out some details cos when I typed further, I find that some things I never write. I guess I'm too lazy to improve it. Till then!Labels: movies
