The Cure
Watched X-Men: The Last Stand today. Very first movie in GV this year since I've been visiting Shaw and Cathay mostly. Anyway, the movie was GREAT! I personally think it's better than The Da Vinci Code and will give it 4 out of 5 stars! It's quite sad to say many are killed off in this last installment (or is it not?) and of course, more characters are introduced. Political issues were touched on, and it simply showed that there are two sides of a human coin - good and evil. The more you try to suppress it, the more it wants to escape... The ending was magnificent and I don't know whether I should say this... but for those watching it, please stay right to the end of the credits for the coda, or in other words, a small little surprise to entice viewers about the next sequel or to cover a part of the story that was not revealed in the ending.
STAY behind, ok?Labels: movies

So Dark The Con Of Man...
For those who have watched the movie, you'll probably know what I'm talking about...
That's right - it's The Da Vinci Code.
Went to watch it today, and I must say it was as thrilling as I thought it to be. Although I must say I got quite many shocks when Silas appeared, cos he kept BUMP appear from nowhere and THUD hit someone or kill that someone. Sad to say, his nice figure is full of scars. Anyway, the book is much, Much, MUCH better. Maybe the sense of thrill and anticipation is all gone when the actors reveal the clues a little too quick without much thinking - genius, eh? But of course, there's lots of sight-seeing and the revelation at the ending. A little bit different from the book, the last part, or did I remember it wrongly? The actors gave solid acting, especially Ian McKellen(Leigh Teabing) and Alfred Molina (Bishop Aringarosa) Oddly, those people who haven't read the book all gave it 4 stars and above.. but I think I can give it at most 3 and a half.
Been wondering about this lately, if someone has been unfair to you, what would you do? One, do the "an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth" thing and be unfair to him/her... Or Two, ignore such a person and not stoop to his/her (low and despicable) level. Two seems like the angelic answer while One is like the one with the horns... but how can you tolerate it?!?! Arghh... can't stand it!!Labels: movies, thoughts

Jumping for Joy!!!
Haven't blog for many, many days. Been crazily revising for the Common Tests and I hope I get rather okay results, an improvement from the Promos', if possible.
Sunday Attended my cousin's solemnization ceremony. Took many nice photos, even in the ladies! Maybe I'm a country bumpkin, but the doorway was decorated with glass vases of rose petals, that's like so pretty!! Had this really delicious buffet coupled with tasty desserts... Yummy!!
Tuesday This has to be the best day of the week, or like what Shi Zhen said, it's Scorpio's Day. Re-did my standing broad jump after numerous attempts the previous week. Yan Bing also accompanied me for one round around the track for warm-up, said it'll help. Was panting and then I did a bit of swing and I jumped...
171cm!
Woohoo! I got past the Silver requirement! My classmates and teacher all gave me this extremely shocked-surprised-astonished look. I couldn't believe it myself. After that, they told me to try again, so that I can get GOLD. After all, it's only 1 more cm. Tried again and I jumped...
175cm!
Woohoo-hoo!! This is the best score I have ever jumped in my whole freaking life! Got my Gold! YES!! Shi Zhen also re-did her 2.4km and got a C. That means, both us Scorpios got a Gold on Tuesday! But, the best thing and one that hit me most, was that the teacher said I "changed her definition of hopeless". Hooray - fat girls can jump too!! Who said otherwise??
Thursday/Friday Had Econs, GP and Math CT. For the first time, I wrote so much for Econs. But I think a lot of them are not related. Oops. Math was difficult, or rather, tricky. But alas, it's over. Gonna enjoy myself for a few days, by watching all the movies I have yet to watched and go online, go shopping, go have fun!!
Till then!Labels: school

Jam
Hmm.. Supposed to be doing my revision now. Common Tests are breathing up my neck with all of my papers except Physics coming this Thursday and Friday. Kinda stressed. Suddenly realized that I've got so much to study, but somehow, I'm like a little bo chap. Terrible person, I am. Always doing the last minute thing.
Anyway, I went to collect my CLEO prize yesterday at Raffles Place. Felt extremely out of place among all the business suits and tall office buildings. Eventually found The Arcade, where their office was located, with the help of this very nice lady. Got this T-Zone bag of facial products and left almost immediately. Funny how you always have a longer travelling time then the time spent on the actual destination. Met Hong Kai at the MRT just as I was about to leave for Raffles Place MRT and I saw Yuk Ming in the bus on the way home! How long has it been? 1 year? Almost couldn't recognize him but I still said 'Hi'. Didn't really talk as I don't really have much to say. He changed quite a lot, I have to say. Hairstyle and everything else. Even his voice - so deep! Maybe I haven't been talking much to him in recent years, but compared to his primary school days' voice, it sounds like worlds apart!
TPJC College Day today and I was almost late, thanks to bus number 59. Someone from TPJC obviously pressed the bell before the traffic light so that we could alight outside the school. But the female bus driver just stopped at the bus stop without opening the doors and drove on! Bloody hell... The girl who pressed the bell pressed it again and went to confront the driver. The driver insisted we didn't press the bell. What the hell, made me and 3 other girls walk one bus stop back. If I knew such a thing would happen, I would have taken bus 21 which was behind bus 59 at my place. Arghh...
College Day was obviously boring but only 11 people came in our class. Record breaking. Cheered for Eugene and Hong Kai, who both got prizes. Also cheered for other "characters"... of which I shall not elaborate more... as we were kinda over-enthusiastic in that portion. Went home shortly and fell asleep later. Guess the College Day is like a sleeping pill. Oh, and I saw Mr. Cho at the bus stop. Talked for a little bit. He's still the same though, what a nice thing to meet him after so long.
Shall not blog any further. Lots of 'music' behind me, so till then (most probably Friday after Common Tests)... See you!!Labels: school

Adventures of the TV Junkie
Guess the title suggests a lot. Watch quite a number of television programmes over the long weekend and today, so I had lots to say.
Just wanna mention a few...
Saturday's last episode of Chinese Paladin was extremely sad. The whole episode was so tensed and so many people died. What's left is the super-cute-and-handsome protagonist Li Xiao Yao. As what his beloved Ling'er mentioned, "the ones left behind are the ones who suffer most". Out of all the people he knew and loved, he's the last one standing. Awww...
Oh, I just realized that Spongebob Squarepants is back on Central today. Wonder how long has it been. But, well, I had a good half an hour laughing my guts out. Oprah after that was even better. Theme for that episode was "Oprah's Favorite Things", and to sort of reward ordinary citizens for helping out in Hurricane Katrina, she gave out all her favourite things to the audience, which included luxury soaps, bathrobes, brownies, oatmeal cookies and the latest Sony VAIO laptops! Absolutely COOL!! Just wish that I could orb some of the stuff back into my arms...
And to add to that, there are so many good movies coming out in these few months!! All thanks to the The Ultimate 8 Days Movie Junkie Guide!
- Poseidon
- The Da Vinci Code
- X-Men: The Last Stand
- Love Story
- Superman
- Thank You For Smoking
- The Lake House
- Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest
- A Scanner Darkly
- The Break-up
- Goal! 2
- Lucky Number Slevin
- You, Me & Dupree
- The Devil Wears Prada
- Happy Feet
- Breaking & Entering
Of course, those above are those that I fancy but I don't think I can watch all of them because they are gonna cost me a big bomb and I may not have the time! But I'll TRY... Labels: movies, tv

"Kong Gor Jee See... Huat Ah!"
Gosh, it's been about a week since I blogged. Hmm... here goes the juicy details.
Monday Sea Sports Heats! Went over to Kallang after having lunch at Eastpoint with majority of the class. Sadly, I didn't manage to participate in any of the individual or team events because they were either disqualified or postponed. However, for the Dragonboat event, our class did well! In the beginning, we were all busy back-paddling at the starting point as the current kept bringing us forward. Seriously, we wasted a lot of energy there. But, the fun began when the horn was sounded! Using our strategy (shh... ) from last year's race, we just chionged to the end of the mark. Super-tiring but the end result was just overempowering! Salty water kept splashing into my eyes and my face, and I admit, I stopped for one second due to some small hoo-ha, but everyone did their best. It was in fact, the first race with new 05S24-ians, Edris and Faisal. We won that particular race and were exhilarated! Stayed back for mini-dragonboat race but it was postponed in the end as it was getting late.
Tuesday Heard from reliable sources that our class got 2nd overall for the heats. Yippee! Lost to rival class 05S17 (again...). But I guess both classes will chiong damn hard during the holidays, to get Gold! Had NAPFA, and it was better than last week's, at least all were between As and Bs. Just think that standing broad jump is gonna pull me down to a Silver instead of Gold. I want a Gold!!
Wednesday Had photography after school. The supposed Photoshop workshop was a hoax! No hands-on, just listen to instructor only. Felt so cheated, man. To think I was even anticipating it. Went on to buy 3 big black cardboards with Yin Chieh, at Popular. Bloody hell, the boards were heavy, bulky and expensive. All for some photoframes. They better not dunk them once the exhibition is over... I spent 3 hours measuring and cutting the frames. My fingers were numb and painful from all the force exerted on the cutting.
Thursday Managed to get a C for my 2.4m run. Think I tried my best though I think I could have a better timing if I knew exactly when was my last run. I had lost count and the helper just gave me a 'Huh?' face when I asked her if it was my last round. But I don't think I could have jumped a grade, so I'll just let it go. Now, the most important thing is to jump over 172cm for my standing broad jump to get a Gold!! Seems so far to reach, this goal but I'll try my best.
Super tired today. So gonna go sleep now. Such an irony, right? After all, it's 1AM now!!Labels: school

Sweat...
It's been awhile since I officially blogged about my life. Not that interesting as compared to other bloggers, but it's still MY life.
Well, to start off, I failed my standing broad jump!! Really disappointed. It seems to be getting worse each year I participate. I did even worse than my primary school days!! Now, heeding advice from teachers and friends, I'm climbing the stairs (two by two) everyday on the way home!! Hope it's effective.
And SKYY did it again in Physics lecture on Thursday. As usual, the usual 'decoy' (a female lecturer) was made to cover the last parts of the lecture and after 10 minutes, in came a monster - Liew!! We immediately started to panick. Should we leave or stay? Of course, we could not bring our bags out, and so we grabbed our notes and pencil cases and went out of the LT, looking as if we were going to the Ladies. Didn't regret our decision because as we stepped out, he began his usual crapping again. Went into the LT beside the monstered one and had a more effective lesson time. Stayed back for GP Essay test, which I crapped a lot. From 1630-1800hrs, it's like time for an afternoon-evening nap and they're testing us?
Today was TPJC's Sports Day. Reported for photog duty and yup, Yin Chieh and I got our camera. We mostly took pictures from our stand. Oh, and I forgot to mention, I'm in the house of Seagull!! Funny name and dull colour (grey) but at least the girls were the champions... Quite a fun event as our class guys took part in almost all the 100m events like 4x100m, 8x100m and 12x100m. And they got FIRST for the 12x100m, which was a combined effort with 05S30. Great job, guys and I must say the girls screamed real loud too. And, of course, like any sporting events, there is always the hot bods and great endless legs. YC and I saw this guy with micro red shorts and long, fair legs. We bet he'd looked great in a pair of heels. And we helped our friend take pictures of this guy she had the hots for... the guy was stretching and was showing off his muscles. And we even saw this guy half-naked at dragonboat training later that day. *grins*
Well, as mentioned, we had our dragonboat training today after the sports day. First time this year and Monday's the actual thing. Thought I forgot how to paddle but I guess when I went into the water, it just came into me. Did almost 2 hours of dragonboating and I hope everything will turn out well on Monday. Meng Wee had a minor injury and it was simply to painful to watch. Went home shortly after and had the most fun time in the MRT. It was super crowded and we were all smelly, sticky and wet. *evil laughs* But that didn't make people move away to other cabins.
Well, gonna rest now and probably study for my physic test on Tuesday, train for NAPFA test (the standards have gone up!!) and also prepare myself for Sea Sports Heats on Monday.
See you!!Labels: friends, school

The All-American Rejects - Move Along
Go ahead as you waste your days with thinking When you fall everyone stands Another day and you've had your fill of sinking With the life held in your Hands are shaking cold These hands are meant to hold
Speak to me, when all you got to keep is strong Move along, move along like I know you do And even when your hope is gone Move along, move along just to make it through Move along Move along
So a day when you've lost yourself completely Could be a night when your life ends Such a heart that will lead you to deceiving All the pain held in your Hands are shaking cold Your hands are mine to hold
Speak to me, when all you got to keep is strong Move along, move along like I know you do And even when your hope is gone Move along, move along just to make it through Move along (Go on, go on, go on, go on)
When everything is wrong, we move along (Go on, go on, go on, go on) When everything is wrong, we move along Along, along, along
When all you got to keep is strong Move along, move along like I know you do And even when your hope is gone Move along, move along just to make it through [x3]
(Go on, go on, go on, go on) Right back what is wrong We move along [fade out]Labels: lyrics, the all-american rejects
