Disgusted
Had SPE today. Gonna do hockey for this term. Kinda fun yet tiring. Had to do all sorts of warm-ups in this tribal circle. Not to mention Mr Samad's quirky sense of humour. He can do a lean, mean version of 'lean back...'. I think this is one of the PE lessons that I laughed so much.
Had Econs later and results sucks, big time. To think I thought most highly of this paper. Even my teacher went to tell my friend to teach me. Am I that bad? Maybe. Plus, our lectures are splitting! My class is splitting!! It so happens that I'm in this group without any other girls and a whole bunch of noisy boys. =S
Collected my Physics MCQ later and I think I did better than I thought, though I still failed it. Well, I guess I'm not born to do Physics. And questions that I thought were correct turned out wrong - I just can't imagine what will happen to Paper 2. Well, at least some of my guesses were right.
Got back GP Paper 2 later. Really 'phew' big time. Passed it. But my answers were really lousy. Wish me all the best in Paper 1. I heard Jason was top for Comprehension! Wow... maybe like Yan Bing said, doing weird things is just good.
Gotta buck up soon. But it's always like that, all talk and no action. ^-^Labels: school

Fatigue
Wow, it's been a long time since I blogged about my personal life, aside from those quizzes.
Been busy with Physics revision and I must say I still suck at it. No matter how early I start, it ends up the same way. Anyway, today's Physics was a total disaster. Nothing I studied came out and what I didn't study or study in detail came up in questions worth 10 marks each. I already mentally deducted 4x10 marks from Paper 2. In fact, I kinda finished the paper early and even saw Vernon sleeping! Zhen Hui too! I guess the paper's standard was way up. But I shall not bother myself over it as it is now O-V-E-R. To think I even slept at 0230hrs this morning. Luckily I replenished it yesterday afternoon with 6 hours of napping.
For Father's Day, the whole family went out for some simple fare. After all, it's quality not quantity. While at Bedok South, I spotted this TPJC guy helping his parents to serve at this fried kway teow stall. At that time, I was thinking - "Woah, so man!". But I was kinda avoiding him cos I think it might be quite embarrassing. But my sister was like "Why avoid? You should be proud that this guy is humble enough to help out." For the first time, I agreed with my sister, silently.
Well, I went to collect my Power 98 prize last Tuesday and I must say it was a not-so-pleasant experience. I actually went to check StreetDirectory.com and asked my sister on the way to get there and was pretty sure of it. When I got there, all it did was one wrong turn and I made one big useless round about Safra Mount Faber when the bus-stop I stopped at was actually opposite my destination! Silly me! My shirt was soaked, feet all tired and I finally made my way to CMPB, which is coincidentally where all the boys take their medical checkup for NS. Obviously I was the only girl, or maybe one of the few, to be around there. My hair was sticking to my face and there was no way I could have spotted any cute guys. There's this really strict check, and the pass was another funny thing. I think I may have been too exhausted that I actually looked to the guard to give me some sign to get pass the barrier. Ten minutes and a whole load of embarrassment later, I finally got to the office of Power 98 and Dongli 88.3. Collected my prize - Snow Patrol/Lindsay Lohan albums, Kit Kat goodie bag and XBox Cup Bag - and left home happily. Not sure if I want to win any more prizes from Power 98, considering the amount of trouble, but who doesn't like freebies?
Gonna enjoy myself before the results are out. Meanwhile, I thought it'll be nice to share this picture with you guys. It's named Le Baiser de l'Hotel de Ville, Paris, 1950 or The Kiss At City Hall (as seen on the postcard I have) by Robert Doisneau. Thought it was powerful, passionate and beautiful at the same time. Enjoy!

Satisfaction
Aha! Went for my last session of Seal Engraving today. Finished my first seal after all the scratching and carving of the seal. And I carved out those words that I wrote (for the first time) myself with a chinese brush. Rather amateurish-looking and doesn't have character like those written by calligraphy experts, but it's still my very own! One student and the teacher checked my 'masterpiece' and just stared at it. No comments. No actions. No nothing. I don't even know if it's good or bad, make me so nervous only. Think it's because they can't make out the words?? Cos personally, I can't make it out myself if I wasn't the one carving it. Think if I carved wrongly, nobody would know - only the experts of the experts.
Got a second seal today and I plan to carve my own (illegible and unrecognizable) surname again... as for the other side of the seal, I'm thinking of whether to carve my name (again) or like what Shi Zhen suggested - "KJ.eio". Then it would be a mixture of East and West. And Shi Zhen's off to a 30-hour World Vision fasting camp. She shouldn't fast anymore! I wouldn't be able to see her if she did!!
After the session, I went to buy DVDs!! There's sale now and I've been waiting for quite a while for it to come. My sister says I'm crazy to wait so long and she says her patience would wear out if she waited too long. Anyway, I think Laserflair's not bad, compared to Gramophone. My sister told me Gramophone got 'sale up to 50% off' and when I went there, the DVDs are so expensive. Other places are selling under $20 and they are like at almost $30. Sale? - yeah, right. But it's your own choice ultimately, and I made mine.
Got Princess Diaries 1/2 as well as The Art of Seduction, which is a really funny show. Speaking of which, The Art of Seduction stars Son Ye-Jin, which also stars in A Moment To Remember - 4 and a half out of 5 stars, which I watched on Friday. It's about this couple who falls in love and marries each other and not long after, the girl develops Alzheimer's disease and starts to forget her husband, her loved ones and herself. It's so sad to see her attack her own husband, call her husband by her ex's name and after that, leaving without a word when her memory surges her back to the present, so as to spare her husband of all the pain. Of course, these surges are temporary and her husband lives in agony. The ending was rather happy though I think it's temporary, as there is this big reunion where the female lead is brought back to the place she first met her husband and all the 'characters' in the shop are her family members and doctor who treated her. And needless to say, the story is heart-wrenching and tear-jerking. No prizes for guessing if there was tears shed.
I think I've developed something for Korean films. Something different about them. I think it's the storyline and the way it is directed?? If you haven't seen any Korean films, I strongly recommend you go catch one now. Maybe you can watch Almost Love, which is showing at all Cathay theatres.
By the way, if you're interested in the Teens' Choice Award 2006, please click on the following link : TCA 2006, and cast your votes! I think those who watch more English movies and TV programmes may be able to relate to this better cos there's no Asian elements in it. Have fun!!Labels: movies

Retail Therapy Makes A Girl Happy
Hmm... after much waiting and 'suspense', I finally bought my Caribee tote bag!! In fact, the more I look at it, the more gorgeous it becomes. Now, I'm waiting for a golden opportunity to carry it. Even my grandma said it looks good! Now, that's a really nice thing to say, isn't it?
Anyway, today was a pretty dull day. Wanted to do Math, but I ended up sleeping for 3 hours. Woke up but I went to use the computer instead. After that, I went to watch Kids Central. I have no idea why I'm still watching Power Rangers. I mean, you can anticipate what are they gonna morph into, and the weapons they use... but I still like to watch it. I guess it's a childhood thing. Oh, I'm such a terrible person, right?
Think I better buck up soon, the holidays are ending (sadly...) and I've still got ten over topics to Physics to cover... Arghh...Labels: thoughts

Almost Love
Went Cathay to catch Almost Love today, a Korean film starring Kwon Sang Woo and Kim Ha Neul. It's about the two leads having this 13-year-old friendship, who begins to turn for the better (or for worst) when they start to date other people. It's so obvious that they were meant for each other but of course, they usually never see it. But this show is either very sad or very touching, because towards the ending or maybe 3/4 of the show, I started to cry and it didn't really stop till the ending. I think it started before Sang Woo had his accident. So sad, he lost his leg! And he could still joke with his father if he had ate it... It makes people want to laugh and cry at the same time. Not only were his dreams dashed, his life took a big merry-go-round. Well, overall, the show was funny too. With his eccentric dad and his weird hairdo, and not to mention the toilet scene where he and another cutie were bathing, the romantic bus-top movie watching and all the ball kicking and grabbing... this show is really good for laughs! Think I'll give it 3.5 stars.
Went to the ladies after the show and this bloody obasan cut my queue. Something irritating happened later but I shall not go further. And I saw May and Choy of MTV's Double Trouble at The Heeren Shops. They're really pretty in real-life, very trendy too. Bought a little stuff and went back home.
What a tired day! Shall go and rest now! Ta-taa!
PS. Visit the official website Almost Love - it's really interactive and fun, except that it's all in Korean.Labels: movies

Glee
Woah, haven't been here for quite some time. Been lazing around at home, staring into space, watching TV, using the computer, painting my nails, packing my stuff... basically, doing things that I'm not supposed to, technically.
*R-E-V-I-S-I-O-N* Yah, that's what I'm supposed to do. Physics CT is coming in like 2 weeks? And I have only completed 3 topics at most? Arghh... it seems to take forever.
Went back to school on Saturday for this seal engraving workshop. Tough thing. Firstly, I had to write this very complex version of my chinese name with a brush - not very good for someone who's a newbie to calligraphy. My words turned out kinda thick. Secondly, my name didn't look like my name!! Even the teacher said so. Thirdly, I have to carve out the bits of stone myself, whether it's easy or not. Ah! I shall perservere.
Went out shopping today. So happy. I bought this pair of shoes. Not too high, not too low. Perfect! And I saw my Caribee bag again. Think I'm gonna get it sometime during the next week.
Oh, and there is the World Cup fever. Idiotic Channel 5 is only showing 4 matches, what kind of 'Licensed Broadcaster' is this? Only managed to listen to it via the radio, if not, managed to catch glimpses of it on TV. But listening to it was sure fun. Heard this Mandarin commentary last night on the match between England and Paraguay, the deejays had some difficulty pronouncing the names and the chinese translation of some players' name were even funnier. Well, at least it's an effort to allow cable-less listeners to enjoy the World Cup fever.
Till then, ciao!Labels: school

Oh Boy, She's The Man!
Well, from the title, I think it's obvious that I went to watch She's The Man, starring Amanda Bynes.
Try solving the riddle first. For this movie, I think I'll give it 3.5 out of 5 stars. I mean, Amanda Bynes' really funny trying to impersonate her brother. Like those 'ahem' parts where she deepens her voice deliberately, acting to be in extreme pain when a soccer ball hits her crouch, the part at the carnival where she changes into her brother in this merry-go-round thing and the catfight! And the guys are just plain cute, or hot for that matter. Like Duke (Channing Tatum). Well, the ending was also nice, with the final soccer match showdown. Like the father said "Is it me, or does this soccer match has more nudity than others?". Oh, did I mention that Viola's ex is really an irritating crybaby? Oh my, he's worst than a girl! Other than that, it has a great soundtrack to boot! Especially All-American Rejects!!! Dirty Little Secret and Move Along!!! Wow, I tell you, when the guitar started to strum and the drums started to beat, I really feel like jumping up and down!! And to top off, I have changed my blog music to All-American Rejects' Move Along - my favourite song of the moment.
Another thing, I went on air last night! Got onto Power 98 at around 2258hrs, won this Snow Patrol CD and some other stuff. Very nervous. But I guess it went quite okay. Saw this very nice white Caribee bag on Sunday, but my mom wouldn't let me buy it cos it's white! She says the bag won't last long with me using it. Whatever. But the bag's Gorgeous! Everytime I see it, it's like "come buy me, come buy me...". Oh, till then... Labels: movies, the all-american rejects

The Big 'H'
Arghh... just came back from school. Got back Math CT results.
It's so Horrible (yes, with a capital 'H') that I feel like vomitting, crying or even hitting myself. It's supposed to be like my best subject among all the other just-pass/cannot make it subjects. I guess I was too complacent, or maybe overestimated myself. Or maybe I just didn't practise enough. When is enough? It is never enough, or like my cousin says "you'll have to go through the TYS from cover to cover at least 3 times". Hell, I'd laugh to myself if I ever had time to completely go through once. My mom was complaining that I was reading math, instead of practising. Guess that's the problem.
I'm the problem.Labels: thoughts

Bored
Been having extra lessons these past two days and I have to say, today's attendance was the most shocking of all.
Anyway, I reached school about one hour earlier - crazy, i know - and so happened to meet Zhengyi. Long time since I actually talked to her even though we're in the same school. Waited till the time was up and slowly strolled to the LT. Something told me last night that attendance would be very poor and it's right. I was the only one in my class who arrived at the dot. About 20 minutes later, Szu Jeng strolled in, and there was this flabbergasted look on his face. I mean, the whole LT was empty except for the first two rows. At 1130hrs, when the lesson was about to end, Jie Sheng, Jason and Meng Wee popped in. That makes five.
Met Izzulwan earlier. He also came for GP but I guessed he got it wrong. Did some X-Men talk and other stuff. Hopefully, a movie soon?
Oh, I watched Singapore Idol last night. Was laughing for the first half of the show because some of the expressions were damn funny! Okay, this is so rude, since I'm not a great singer. But, I guess the two most favourite of the first 7 were my favourites too... Like those messy hair and deep voice... I think men with deep voices are attractive in a sense, I don't know why... but there's this magnetism in it. *blushes*
By the way, I changed my blogskin! Give me your comments, ok? See ya.Labels: blog-related
