Teacher's Day Celebration

Didn't expect today to have so much fun. When I first reached school today, I saw Kelvin who has been MIA for almost one week. Then when we joined the 'class table', there were only 2 other guys. That roughly made up for the measly attendance our class had this morning. My beacon of light came in the form of Shi Zhen who was the only girl who came in the morning. How miserable life would be without her in the morning.

Went to canteen but subsequently went to the classroom to "hide" as this discipline teacher came to spot check the canteen. But it's like a huge irony as we saw this teacher teaching Chemistry to his students in one of the classrooms. Chatted for some time in the midst of darkness and the soft spinning of the fan blades. Every sound made us jump. Even the ticking of the clock. The worst thing was when we heard the footsteps on the roof. It was quite some time before we saw the school uncle walking over to the other side, removing those national day flags. Chey!

The class started to come and we had our Econs lesson, which ended with a mini celebration for Qiyin. However, I think my photo-taking skills are a bit off today as I took some really weird looking pictures ie. people with sideway glances, Qiyin caught in a freeze-frame while she was blowing the candles (which really emphasized her nickname "Babin") and of course, our Econs teacher trying to wipe cake off his mouth. I don't think I'll be posting them up as it'll be quite offensive for those involved.

Went for the celebration in the hall. It was boring 80% of the time. I liked the year 1s dancing to the various dance music - hip hop, bollywood and modern dance. Quite refreshing and my friend had the eyesight to note that the lead dancer had "big boobs". Whatever, as long as she wears her clothes properly. And for the first time in my life, I went to give my GP teacher gifts for Teacher's Day! Such a huge responsibility! One was the 'standard' photo frame which every teacher had and the other was a gift from our class! Hope she likes it. Poor Shi Zhen, she gave the photoframe and present to Liewsiew and he shook her hand! I was telling her to tie it up in a plastic bag so that she wouldn't corrode things cos it's contaminated. Eugene was super sarcastic when he gave Liewsiew the travel declaration form, since Liewsiew kept demanding for it.

Went to interchange initially Vanessa, Puay Ling and Joseph. And I saw Joy on the bus! On the way to KBox. Lucky girl, having holiday now. The good thing was, I let her meet Shi Zhen, who was her primary school schoolmate. Nice thing, right? Like reuniting long lost people. Went off to meet Wan Yee later and I kinda didn't join any other gathering after that. Walked around and decided to catch The Devil Wears Prada, starring Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway. I think I'll give it 4 out of 5 stars. Love those sarcastic tones, lovely fashion, sexy heels and how it tells the audience to be true to yourself. In fact, I kinda learnt that there is no such thing as "no choice", just whether you have an easy choice or a difficult one. Admired Andrea's courage and Miranda's wit. Hopefully, I will be able to learn something from it. Well, I think this is gonna be my last movie for the time being. Thank god I caught it today, and I enjoyed Wan Yee's company!

Anyway, on a lighter note, click on the following link: Hard Gay for something that my class is over-excited and crazy about. Looks damn gay and it's real funny. Enjoy!

Silence

Today was one of the best revision days in school. Only went for GP lessons and Math lessons at the beginning and the end of school. Skipped Physics, which I think only the boys went. Surprisingly, SKYY all felt that it was a waste of time. It was time well spent in the library as I finally understood Kirchhoff's Law, though I'm not sure if I would be able to apply it in the exams.

Math lessons was fun! But it seems that such fun lessons only last for single periods. Our math teacher is on MC again and the most humourous teacher Mr. Chow came to teach our class! Can joke and can teach. If only our teacher joked a little more and stopped speeding up the lesson. It can be quite breathless at times.

Well, tomorrow's Teacher's Day eve and it's also my classmate's birthday. A lot of stuff is yet to be confirmed. And it means the exams are drawing nearer! Panic!

Pressure versus Pressured

Didn't want to blog today, but the more I thought of it, the more I wanted to blog. I think I'm those kind with a lot of angst, forgive and seldom forget, that kind. But that doesn't make me a dangerous person.

Early in the morning, had GP lessons. Was quite restless and listless even though I was copying what the teacher was saying. On the other hand, I was flattening my staple bullets, for god knows what reason. Had my yummy briyani for recess. The uncle was very nice - he gave me an extra large drumstick! Too bad the stall is closing soon. Seriously, I think SKYY and many others will go the distance for his briyani.

Physics was the real bomb of the day. It's already boring enough to do the 2005 papers. Not to mention it was kinda stressing since every page I turn to, I'm like "Huh, got such questions one ah?" Then the stupid teacher was literally breathing down my neck, saying things like "Girl, your pace is different from the rest", "Girl, you must try" and "Girl, which question are you at now?". Bloody hell. In the beginning, I was like, "Ok, this sickening fellow is trying to help me - I should be kind to him." Then, he come and ask me every 5 minutes and kept walking behind me, back and forth. It seems like I can't even take a minute of break and he keeps asking me where am I and tells me to try. I'm trying! I don't know a lot of formulas and a lot of definitions. And all he does is to hover around me like a sickening housefly. Then when I finally gave up and took out my Alternating Current notes to read, he asked me "what is this?". Physics lah! Then he told me "to try" again. Can't I even read my own Physics notes? It's not as if I'm doing Economics or Math. Really. I think if I stayed there any longer, I may have broken down or just stayed in the ladies for the rest of the day. Seriously, I was really tempted to leave the class. Like the pressure coming from the impending prelims is not enough, this teacher had to constantly pressure me into doing things I can't.

What a terrible way to end the day. Even Shi Zhen noticed that there was a big housefly buzzing around me. Ahh.. Don't care. I will not let such a trifle matter affect me. Especially such an insignificant fellow who's been cheating government's money. Can't imagine the Physics double on Wednesday. But, the roti john after school was such a nice thing to boost my mood. I guess a night's sleep would be self-healing.

Gotta go mug now. Mug - the word that's hanging around the lips of every student now. How I hate it, but I want it to be over soon.

Success Through Perserverance - Min Xin PS's school motto. I shall abide by it.

First Impressions DON'T Count

It's been a long time since I blogged. No sure if it's laziness or I'm trying to pretend that I'm real busy.

Been trying to study, as usual, and I keep dozing off. The late nights are taking their toll on me. I can REALLY see the big, dark eye circles forming. Horrible. Disgusting. I can't imagine how I would return to Damai on teacher's day as a panda. But then, it's not confirmed whether I'll be going back though I'm most probably am. Haven't ask the rest yet. But as my friend always says, "With this kind of results, I'm too ashamed to go back." I don't think that applies to me cos I still went back last year even though my Physics got the same grade as my Promos this year. Ahhh... heck care. Hope the teachers won't ask. If they do, I'll just give them my favourite reply - my SMILE. =D

Had Math Stats test on Wednesday. Super horrible. I think I stressed too much that I forgot the formula for the normal distribution. In the end, I gave some equations sqaure roots, some I took them out. What a bad feeling.

Well, prelims are in less than 2 weeks time and my Physics notes are like still fresh and crispy. Been trying to read the notes but I don't know why I just lose interest halfway. Even physics lessons seems boring, even though they were boring before this.

Last night's radio was super nice! 987FM got this new segment - Frontrow Friday - and their first feature was on the All-American Rejects! Stayed up from 0100-0200 hrs! But I slept like a pig in the day today. My aunt thought I was a drug addict. Haha. I'm not, in case you didn't know.

Gonna rush my never-ending homework and revision tonight. See ya!

Skeptical

After the two days' disaster of difficult tests, I'm finally able to blog.

Physics was quite tough - needless to say as I didn't study - but managed to scribble in some formulas or anything I can get out of my Physics-drained brain. Dozed off a few times but I didn't leave early like I thought I would. In fact, the two periods passed real fast. Econs was worst - congestion came out and our teacher actually made us copy some two pages worth of congestion stuff three periods ago. But I think I scribbled too much to really understand anything. My essay was way too short and I think I'm gonna get some verbal lashings on Monday. GP was even worst. Reading the passage demoralized me. Doing it made me feel I was so stupid. Spent like half an hour on the summary which I doubt could get me any marks at all. The whole paragraph was rather difficult to comprehend. Finished it with a heavy heart.

Slept at 12 midnight last night. The earliest I slept this week. I think the panda is my current mascot. My sister bought me this panda magnet from Mini Toons today. The resemblance is uncanny. Haha. [Think Eat. Shoots. And Leaves.]

Anyway, our school prata stall is closing! Gosh! How can they do that?!?! It's like the BEST stall in the whole of the canteen and the uncle is so friendly! They have the best briyani which SKYY patronises quite often, not to mention delicious pickles. Now, they are leaving. What is the meaning of this? Give us everything we like and then take it all away from us? Don't know what the management is thinking. Doing things that are unneccessary.

Time is running out and I'm just only picking up a little speed. Left with a little less than 3 weeks to my Prelims. Statistics assessment coming up and I've only just realized how weak I'm at that. Those funny, confusing, look-alike formulas are driving me crazy!! Well, I guess it's shows how insufficiently prepared I am.

Gotta mug now. Bye!

P.S. I think being a deejay is quite a good idea, Izzulwan.

It's FATE

Kinda funny that I'm blogging when I have TWO big tests tomorrow - Physics and Econs. I already gave up for Physics since I have less than 24 hours before I'm tested on almost the entire syllabus. I know my Physics suck but I don't think there's a point in finishing the whole thing by tonight... At most, I'll still study, but it's for my Prelims - think long term. Tomorrow, the test duration is sure to be very boring/interesting. Boring - nothing to do. Interesting - see what other people do when they have nothing to do.

Been sleeping at 0100 - 0130hrs these past few days. No wonder got panda eyes. But seriously, at this juncture, 24 hours a day just isn't enough. Luckily, got Shan Wee on 987FM for company till 2am in the morning. Then, it's so peaceful and nice without all the rantings from my sis and parents. So noisy. In the wee hours of the morning, it's only me, Shan and the occasional crickets. Ahh... BLISS.

Just did a survey about our Prom this year. It's gonna be held at Ritz-Carlton on 29 November. Had to choose the theme, DJs and food. The theme was kinda weird - cosplay? What? Winnie the Pooh, or Pokemon, or even Spongebob appearing on Prom? Eeew, so un-Prom. The DJs are even worst. How can they separate Glenn Ong and Rod Monteiro?? They are after all, The Brudders!! The food was quite difficult to choose, I like soup from the Chinese Food Set A, but I also like the dessert from Chinese Food Set B! Western food also seems yummy though I hope it won't taste like shit as I heard from my seniors and friends that their western food's not that delicious. God bless us...

Anyway, I changed my blog music to Muse's last night. Very seductive right? Makes you wanna hit the dancefloor and seduce the opposite sex... Haha... Also, I changed the background to my shuai-ge (Mr. Handsome) a.k.a. ELVIN NG!!! I even bought this week's i-weekly because of him. Although his pictures all taken with Fiona Xie, but Fiona's quite pretty too, so they kinda match. Right now, he's the wallpaper in my phone. Wow, imagine late at night, I'm studying and mugging and there's company right there - in my phone! Oh my god, those chiselled features and intense eyes. Gosh! I better stop talking about him or else there will be no more male readers for my blog!!

Gonna go start my "mugging" now. Ta-ta!!

31 Days

That's exactly how many days I have left to my Prelims. Such a short time, and I'm still here - blogging, watching TV, surfing the net, sleeping like no one's business and wasting lots of time.

I'm so rushed for time! There's loads of GP tests (Essays and Comprehensions) each week, big big Physics test next Thursday and Econs essay test on the same day too. Not to mention another Math Statistics and GP Assessment in the next 2 weeks. I seriously don't know what I'm doing with my life. Gonna push myself harder if I want the best for myself.

Anyway, had a short day in school today. Got back my Econs essay. Though I didn't pass, I think that was one of the best essays I've written during and under test/exam time/pressure. I'm so proud of myself. Haha, but I still didn't pass, so I gotta work on my writing speed and memorising skills! I just can't seem to remember to weird-looking graphs - what curve upwards/downwards... Arghh...

May not blog as often now, because my life is gonna be filled with books; it's so boring you don't want to read it and I guess I don't have much time. But if there's really something I want to share, I'll be here! Take care, everyone!

Slowly Moving Away

Funny. It's ONE in the morning and I'm not asleep. It's not insomnia. I, myself, don't know what it is. It's like this weird syndrome where one can feel very sleepy just before eleven and then you doze off till the wee hours of the morning and you don't feel like sleeping anymore. At least for a while. This happened twice in a row for me. Not that I'm not sleeping much. I slept in the afternoon but end up more tired at night, which is bad as it totally messes up with what I'm planning to do. Wanted it to be fruitful but it ended up fruitless. Been trying to force myself to study but at this rate I'm going, it's gonna be dead slow. Plus, I don't want to sleep that late either. My eye bags are measuring up to 1.5cm now. Dark and big = horrible. I fear the camera now.

Had Econs test last Saturday. Prior to that, SKY devised this revision schedule for that week only. Quite meaningful, at least I made myself study so I won't let my friends and I down. But the only thing is, I didn't finish my part (b) and my MCQ turned out disastrous. Our Econs teacher said he's "seeing stars" after lecturing the class on Monday. I feel so bad. He made us do more practices, went through every question with us and my marks are like shit. I mean, he's a very good teacher and it would be unfair for him not to get the best out of us since he spends the most time with us. I hope and promise to work harder for Econs. At least a pass, or a better pass.

Had our National Day Celebration today. Did this jigsaw puzzle which our class did with so much enthusiasm. It feels great! Our souvenir was this red towel. Yin Chieh said whoever who used the towel to dry their perspiration or bodies must be turning red after that. The colour was so deep that I'm quite sure it would run. The activities in the hall was so-so only. I see people falling asleep and folding paper planes (dozens of them) and flying them at all times. Then Edris had this funny idea of doing this "rock show" thing. You know, when those rock bands have concerts, they jump off the stage and let the crowd carry them? That's what they did. They even did it in different parts of the hall so that the whole school could see them. After that, it was Eugene's and Ghim Liang's turn. I guess it's not so good to be small-sized sometimes. The best, or the worst, was Royce. He got carried all the way across the stage! If any TPJCian is reading this and saw that in school - that is my class. Damn funny. Royce was waving to everybody, like he's King. I guess this is my funniest National Day ever.

I think I'd better get back to studying a little more, after all, it's a holiday tomorrow and the day after and I slept 3 hours in the afternoon today. But before that, here's wishing my beloved country -

HAPPY 41ST BIRTHDAY, SINGAPORE!!

Class Photos 2006

P1050273

[Formal Shot 01]
I made a difficult choice in choosing this photo. The other one also had people's eyes closed and I took this one because it was a little more formal. Sorry, YC!

P1050278

[Formal Shot 02]
Another good formal shot. In fact, the best. Cos the person that was the least important had his eyes closed. In fact, I think I should submit this if possible. Cos the least important one said he submitted for us, with one of our eyes' closed. "Don't know who" was his exact words. Idiot.

P1050275

[Informal Shot 01]
My favourite informal shot. Look at Jason - blood rushing to his head and all the girls straining for their faces to be seen. Just ignore the random passer-by with his camera. What a loon.

P1050280

[Informal Shot 02]
Nice one there. I seriously don't know what the guys were doing behind and look at the front row - everyone kawaii!

05S24 ROCKS!!!

A Little More About Me

Slow and Steady

Your friends see you as painstaking and fussy.

They see you as very cautious, extremely careful, a slow and steady plodder.

It'd really surprise them if you ever did something impulsively or on the spur of the moment.
They expect you to examine everything carefully from every angle and then usually decide against it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You Are 52% Gross
You're more than a little gross, but probably no more gross than the average person.
Maybe it's time to drop some of those disgusting habits that could eventually embarrass you!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

You Are 60% Boyish and 40% Girlish

You are pretty evenly split down the middle - a total eunuch.
Okay, kidding about the eunuch part. But you do get along with both sexes.
You reject traditional gender roles. However, you don't actively fight them.
You're just you. You don't try to be what people expect you to be.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Your Brain is 80% Female, 20% Male
Your brain leans female
You think with your heart, not your head
Sweet and considerate, you are a giverBut you're tough enough not to let anyone take advantage of you!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You Are 44% Open Minded

You aren't exactly open minded, but you have been known to occasionally change your mind.
You're tolerant enough to get along with others who are very different...
But you may be quietly judgmental of things or people you think are wrong.You take your own values pretty seriously, and it would take a lot to change them.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You Are 50% Normal
While some of your behavior is quite normal...
Other things you do are downright strange
You've got a little of your freak going onBut you mostly keep your weirdness to yourself
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You Are 30% Weird

Not enough to scare other people...But sometimes you scare yourself.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You are 87% Scorpio
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You Are 12% Brutally Honest

You're not very honest - even with yourself sometimes.
While it's good to be diplomatic, all your little lies are turning you into a pathological liar!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You Are an Emo Rocker!
Expressive and deep, lyrics are really your thing.
That doesn't mean you don't rock out...
You just rock out with meaning.
For you, rock is more about connecting than grandstanding.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Your Quirk Factor: 58%

You're a pretty quirky person, but you're just normal enough to hide it.
Congratulations - you've fooled other people into thinking you're just like them!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Your Values Profile
Loyalty:
You value loyalty a fair amount.
You're loyal to your friends... to a point.
But if they cross you, you will reconsider your loyalties.
Staying true to others is important to you, but you also stay true to yourself.
Honesty:
You don't really value honesty.
You do value getting your way, no matter what.
And if a little lying is required to do that, no problem.
A few white lies never hurt anyone (at least, that's what you tell yourself!)
Generosity:
You don't really value generosity.
Your needs always come first, no matter what.
And you'll possibly help someone else out...
But only if it helps you in return.
Humility:
You value humility a fair amount.
You tend to be an easy going, humble person.
But occasionally your ego takes over.
You have a slight competitive streak - and the need to be the best.
Tolerance:
You value tolerance a fair amount.
You are open to new cultures, beliefs, and ideas.
You have very few prejudices that you're aware of.
And while you are tolerant, you do stand true to what you believe.
