Too Late For Tears

As predicted, I fared pretty badly for my Prelims. Well, then I suppose I shouldn't use the word "pretty" to describe it? *shrugs*

Physics was expected, even though for some questions I thought it could have been better. For other questions, there weren't any surprise marks, ie. those you bullshit and write down and surprisingly got it correct. My class has only 8 people above the 50-mark range and our very nonchalant physics-cum-civics tutor can still smile when we are already so sad that we are immuned to such scores.

Haven't got back my Econs as my tutor's on Reservist. But when the relief teacher came and went through the MCQs and Data Response, I can already sense more than half of that paper's marks have disappeared into thin air. Next week when my tutor returns, I guess I'll be gobbled down alive. Along with my horrendous results.

Math was kinda acceptable but I think I should have done a wee bit better. Loads of careless mistakes here and there and I think they could have pushed me up by one grade. Using the wrong figures, applying the wrong formulas etc. Why can't I open my eyes BIGGER?!

GP was surprising though. Didn't expect such results at all. I guess I should work even harder next time, though my overall A results would still rely on my sucky Physics.

Anyway, just to share this bit of interesting news with you guys. On Wednesday 27 September 2006, almost 200 TPJCians attempted to leave the school earlier than the expected time of 1250hrs and... SUCCEEDED! *picture taken from TPJC PhotoShare*

Now to give my first-hand account of this really amusing incident. We were released pretty early at 1130hrs and was about to leave the school when we saw lots of students walking back. We saw this Chemistry teacher guarding the gate and she was telling those nearer to the gate to walk back to school. But as she moved further up, those behind her ran out of school. Then she turned and the people on the other side ran out. Damn funny. Deciding to try our luck, SKY went to wait near the gates and saw like probably almost 100 students waiting to crash the gate (almost literally). I guess as she moved to stop the first group, the people in the second group got away and that was how this lovely picture was taken. She finally gave up or gave in, and decided to make her way to the office while ALL those crowding around the gate ran for their freedom. It was truly a liberating experience. The next day, the VP gave this short annoucement that nobody is supposed to leave before 1250hrs and everyone should be in school by 0725hrs even if you have no lessons for the first 3-4 periods in the morning. Our scaredy-cat of a teacher even sent our class a online message to re-inform us about this annoucement. I guess he's probably afraid his class would be without any attendance on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays because on those days, he had the very privilege to have Civics and Physics lessons with us on those dreadful days for the first few periods. I might as well sleep longer and have a better breakfast than to squeeze with other TPJCians who'd have more meaningful lessons than I.

Of which, I have to mention, he didn't do anything at all. Let's see, he went through the Prelim MCQ for three periods and today, he actually picked up this piece of paper from the dustbin and explained forces to us. And he hovered around YC this time, luckily I was sitting in the middle, or else, I might just use a pepper spray???

I guess I'll have to pull up my socks even higher than I have legs to pull them up because this kinda results aren't getting me anywhere. Till then, have fun!

Pile of Guilt

Went to watch John Tucker Must Die on Friday. Super funny. Especially at the basketball match, when cutie Jesse Metcalfe goes all feminine ("Ouch, my nipples hurt!" and "What about me?! What about my emotional needs?!") Man, I laughed like no one's business inside, luckily there aren't people I know in there. At least I think there aren't. Give it 3 and a half out of 5 stars. The girls are also very hot! Love Sophia Bush a.k.a. Beth, who doesn't eat anything with a face. Not to mention Brittany Snow a.k.a. Kate, who has killer abs! Oh my goodness! How did she get those?? Makes me feel kinda guilty for eating fried chicken earlier...

Yesterday, I went for my very first manicure and pedicure at this Excelsior Shopping Centre, near Funan Mall. I won it while reading my aunt's magazine and the in-charge there also didn't expect me to be so young. Well, I picked this lovely shade of sweet metallic pink for my fingernails and toenails. After I left the place, I proceeded with caution for fear of ruining my nails. Well, it's fun and I think every girl, lady, woman... female should get one! They can file away your "fat fingers syndrome" and "ugly nails syndrome" and coat it with any colour you wished. Nice.

Just at the start of my "outing", I met Lester at Tampines MRT. God, it's been more than one year. Okay, anyway, he told me the 6 Happiness class committee is planning a BIG BIG gathering which will consist of everyone in that class. Wow. Plus, he mentioned that they "wrote down everyone's names according to register number by memory". Double wow. I guess I'll be looking forward to it once my A's over. Come to think of it, it's getting scarier. Can't do things I like without feeling guilty. =(

Went over to Raffles City for some window shopping and saw an ex-Damaian working at the adidas store. Went over to Swatch to check out the price of a watch that I thought was nice. Costs a whooping $129.00! The strap looks kinda bulky now and it doesn't really appeal to me, for now. Maybe I'll check it out again some time later.

Currently, there aren't many good movies to watch and I think that's good enough a reason for me to stop stepping in there for a while. But later you'll see, all those that I'd like to watch, planned to watch will come out during late October and early November, when my exams are so near! Murphy's Law. Then, I'll be watching so many movies together at one shot after exams that I may mix up their storylines. But then again, after exams, it may be time for prom shopping. Dresses, shoes, makeup, hair stuff and other items. Hopefully the process of studying can help me lose some flab but it's usually not the case I tend to eat more when I'm studying. But I can't survive on just a teacup of food everyday, you'll see me lying in the Emergency Room at most one week later because my body will attack my fat stores first. Plenty to attack, by the way. Oops.

Gotta go back to "study" now. My mom purposely woke me up at 10 this morning to study... I'm like "Can't I sleep till noon?". Maybe she thinks I enjoyed too much. 5 and a half days since my last paper ended. Maybe it's too much. Tomorrow school will start giving back our papers and I have to stay back to collect my Physics paper. The one I dread most. Arghh...

What to bring to school? A heart strong enough to withstand shock and disappointment.

The Breakdown Part II

My prelims is O-V-E-R! Finally.

Physics Paper I/II was a disaster. Couldn't make head or tail of the question. Ended up writing my own theories, definitions and probably hypotheses. Econs Paper I/II was probably the same. Got lots of MCQs wrong and the DRQ was quite hopeless.

Today's Math Paper II was like Paper I. The bad thing was that I forgot to apply Central Limit Theorem (CLT) to my Stats - again! Keep on repeating my mistakes. Arghh... silly me, why can't it get into my head!!

Anyway, I went to E-N-J-O-Y after the whole exam. Left everything behind and went straight to GV TM. Having some renovations over there but it's still as cold. Went to watch Monster House, a surprisingly good animated movie. Give it 4 out of 5 stars. The story was rather scary at some parts and I was grabbing my bag! It's also funny at the same time, especially Chowder. Puberty takes the "centre stage" as the lead DJ seems to be going through it and enjoys it very much, especially at the crane. The story is touching at some parts and the scary element, humour and effects mix very well together. Plus, I got some special ticket and I saw the movie at only $5.00! Great!

Went around mini-shopping around the Tampines region and bought some VCDs as well as a pretty purse and a very cute correction tape from Mini Toons. Bought it cos my grandfather used to drink Tsingtao beer, which is the exact same design as the correction tape. Actually I saw it in this week's 8 days, which featured the cute creations. Other designs include chocolate bars, Wrigley's chewing gum and many others. Check out what I bought!

Think I roughly caught up with what I missed during the exam period on the computer. Kinda tired now, so I guess I won't go out tomorrow. Need to do excessive filing as all files are getting thicker and messier. Next Monday onwards, the school's gonna start intensive revision. Oh dear.

Till then, enjoy yourselves.

Christian Bautista - The Way You Look At Me

This is really a beautiful song, sang by Christian Bautista from The Philippines.
Well, thanks to me, you can listen to it NOW!

Take a look at the lyrics below; real sweet and meaningful. =) Enjoy!

No one ever saw me like you do
All the things that I could add up to
I never knew just what a smile was worth
But your eyes say everything without a single word

* 'Cause there's somethin' in the way you look at me
It's as if my heart knows you're the missing piece
You made me believe that there's nothing in this world I can't be
I'd never know what you see
But there's somethin' in the way you look at me

If I could freeze some moment in my mind
The second that you touch your lips to mine
I'd like to stop the clock, make time stand still '
Cause baby, this is just the way I always wanna feel

[Repeat *]

I dont know how or why I feel different in your eyes
All I know is it happens everytime

[Repeat *]

The way you look at me

The Breakdown Part I

Been wondering about this question after Physics Paper 3 yesterday: Am I plain stupid or is the paper difficult?

First time I had such a question popping up in my mind, even though I had worser papers before yesterday's. Maybe it's THE PRELIMS, that's why. The heat is getting into me, or rather, it's already got into me. Feel slightly feverish now. Hope it gets better. I still have 5 more papers to go. God bless.

Stayed up late to mug for Math two nights ago, and woke up early to mug for Econs this morning. Guess my body can't tahan anymore cos I kept dozing off every five minutes while reading my Econs notes. Still got 2 Physics papers left for this week then I can use my weekend for Econs and Math. So much to study and here I am, blogging like my exams are over. Really should shoot myself in the head.

Anyway, yesterday's Physics Paper 3 was a disaster. I actually saw one of the questions in the TYS the day before. But I couldn't understand it so I happily ignored it, thinking it won't come out. Then, IT CAME OUT. The moment I saw that diagram, I'm like "OH MY GOD!"... 5 marks gone like that. Later SKYY checked, the other parts of the questions were also from the TYS. So for the record, it's 8 marks lost for that question. And goodness knows how much more marks I have left once the teachers finish marking my papers. Physics of Fluids was idiotic. I actually completed those TYS questions (only this topic, though) and the questions that came out all turn out to be those ulu-ulu ones. Sigh. Gotta shoot myself, again.

Today's Econs was just as bad. I did all the macro questions cos I didn't study micro-economics. Tough choice. Seeing so many of my friends all picking a variation of questions while silly me did all of the same kind. Wanted to try my hand at this micro question then the part (b) stunned me. Too bad. The rest I just crapped my way through, like what they've all been saying, "trying to fill up the paper". One of the questions turned out to be the EXACT SAME question that Larry gave us before. Arghh... WASTED!! Though he didn't go through part (b) cos he said it was similar to this other question, but one look at it tells me my life is (almost) over. Shi Zhen said Larry will eat her alive if he found out what she wrote. I think we'll all be swallowed alive. Don't worry, this time, I need not shoot myself.

Gonna watch Singapore Idol later - one of the few TV programmes that I allow myself to watch. Hope both Jonathan and Hady gets into the Finals! If Jonathan goes out tomorrow, I may watch the finals and vote for Hady, if I feel like it. If Hady goes out, I may watch the finals and vote for Jonathan, if I feel like it. If Jasmine goes out, I think I'll pop some soda first then watch the exciting finals and hope Jonathan will win! Haha.. no offence but I think Jasmine is not really up to it. My personal opinion. Beg to differ if you want to.

Well, gotta go mug later. Physics. (-_-)?

Rigid Mindsets vs Changing Times

Been mugging recently. Like, who isn't doing this during the September "Holidays"??

But, of course, I spent time doing leisure stuff, like allocating 10 minutes of Sunday night to watch Elvin do the tango on President's Star Charity 2006 on Channel 5. Didn't get to see much of it as the cameramen were busy focusing on Tay Ping Hui instead, much to Shi Zhen's delight. Well, whatever. Repeat telecast on this coming Saturday!

Been copying my physics notes since like 3-4 weeks ago and I finally finished copying today! At around 1800hrs. What a great sense of achievement. Almost finished up my blue G-Tec pen whilst copying it. Now, I doubt I have time to revise questions. As for Econs, I'll probably start officially tonight. Been pushing it aside as I feel that I'm wasting time since I always get start on the same page. Might as well do other subjects. Hopefully, I can get past that page tonight.

Anyway, just wanna share this. Been feeling a little queasy since I read that blog entry yesterday or the day before. This girl was posting pictures of girls and guys kissing, girls and girls kissing and guys and guys kissing. Felt really uncomfortable seeing it. They aren't like in a relationship but they do this?? Don't understand and don't want to know. Am I too conservative, traditional or old-fashioned to think this is like, technically, the wrong behaviour? Maybe very close friends do it? Or maybe I'm trying to kid myself. Whatever. I think I'm still quite traditional in thinking though my mindset has progressed much further. Is that a contradiction? I don't know.

Visited The Devil Wears Prada website and I tried their fashion quiz. 7 out of 23 questions correct. Wow, that percentage is, like, better than my physics score. Oops.

Gotta go now. Watch Singapore Idol then start my revision. =P

Introducing... the Sony Ericsson Z610i

SE Z610i

Isn't this phone gorgeous? Chanced upon it in last week's Digital Life. But it's a 3G phone and it's sure gonna be pricey. Never mind, maybe if I work harder, it may just drop from the sky!
